The foolish man builds his house on the sand.
This was a parable given by Jesus, meaning - those who hears His words and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears Jesus words and do not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. Building on sand is fine if you have deep enough footings and a floating raft concrete slab. The city I live in has very sandy soils.
I don't think Jesus would have been a very successful builder.

my life-house is built on a growing recognition of my own foolishness.
...and Jesus is always welcome there...and when I go to the beach Jesus is there too.
I never really took Jesus to be one for taking sides...rather, he was more about giving advice and guidance which would be helpful to everyone.
In Jesus' eyes it was a good idea to build on rock...but attempting to build on sand didn't make someone a lesser man...just someone who would face greater difficulties.

Jesus never called himself 'The Rock'. He called Peter the Rock.
And my life is built on something even steadier -- Knowledge.

It doesn't matter who said it, the wisdom is still the same.
So to answer your question, "Who are you building your life upon?" No one but myself.
What am I building my life upon? Wisdom and knowledge.
