Yes. However, what is significant is that if you're thinking about 'doing it', remember to be safe and to make sure you're ready.
So long as you're in a loving relationship and having sex is what you want to do, discuss the right method of contraception for you with your partner before you do it.
If you're not ready to talk about it, you're not ready to be doing it.
Remember, your virginity is something you can never get back, it can be painful and upsetting if you lose it for the wrong reasons. On the flipside it can be a beautiful gift to the person you love, something they will treasure forever.
