This cough is strange. IT IS NOT A SIMPLE TAKE COUGH MEDICINE. DOCTORS ACT BAFFLED. I wonder why they did not refer me to a specialist. it is like something the government is hiding. i have not seen a specialist and i feel that i should have been refered to a specialist for this. i am a veteran with health benefits.
it is not a simple thing that people think it is like something new is in the atmosphere.
I have one too. its not what people think. its a different cough that is different than any other one i ever had in my life. my throat tickles and itches, i cough uncontrollably with some phlegm and it is embarrassing in public, in meetings, in the restaurant. i am a veteran and went to the va and they call it an allergy. the medication , teas, pepper whatever does not work. WHAT KIND? It is driving me and everyone else CRAZY. i AM NOW getting very exhausted from this and drained. DO I HAVE SOMETHING ?

i have an awful cough myself , from th eone with phelgm to dry. i pee myself all the time, i vomit ,sweat and it dont stop for hours. doctor said i had allergy asthma, but since i been coughing for 3 weeks now on and off and my nose is runny well she decided to give me albuterol, nasonex and claritin d. if that doesnt work she will perform more tests on me. i already had pulmonary test and x ray. notihng appears on them. my throat was also in pain the day i saw her so she said i had an infection and gave me antibiotics. im stii sneezing, coughing to death, sleepless, tired of cleaning my nose... so go to the doc and demand a specialist.

You might.

Have you been tested for sleep apnea or acid reflux? For a while my husband had a very bad cough. He still does once in a while, but not like he did then.

I don't really think the government is hiding anything in this case: I think they genuinely don't know. But then, considering everything that is still coming out from assorted wars, they might be trying to hide what they don't know too.

By all means, keep trying to find a doctor who knows how to deal with your problem. Good luck!

Everone has it and it is an alergy. I can go as much as an hour and not cough and then out of the blue I will start and by the time I have quit, I'm sweating. I hate it. 2 + 1/2 weeks of this crap. As soon as the Bradford Pears stop blooming it will let up some, but then the pines start blooming and here we go again.

Sounds like allergies to me too. Talk to your dr or get a second opinion. There are meds like "singular" that you can take everyday to prevent episodes from happening instead of just taking melds once the symptom starts.

sounds like an allergy/sinus drip cough...I've had something very similar for 5 weeks now....however you should definatly have some tests run, a chest x-ray and such, just to rule everything else out.

Have you asked your doctor why he/she hasn't addressed this? Have they sent you for any tests?
