As i said, it is just not possible to pay that much unless you can find soneone who has accidently had puppies. Small dogs tend to be worth more, too.
$50 wont even cover the cost that a breeder puts into each puppy. Even puppy mills, and god forbid you get a milled dog (if you do be prepared to spend a fortune on vet bills) wont sell a puppy for that cheap.
Basically when buying a puppy you need to be prepared to put money into it

I feel your wording is very interesting...."you don't see paying $200+ just for a puppy"...... breeders have expenses, they buy their dogs for far more than that, they feed them, raise them, provide supplements, health screen and then breed them, by the time the first litter is born I would guess they've invested at least $1,000 into each breeding dog....... then comes the litter and more money is spent.
That seems almost like an insult to a good, reputable breeder.
Are you willing to spend the money associated with getting a pup?, shots, licensing, spay/neuter etc!!!!!!
My advice is go on Craig's list, many dogs there looking to be re homed with a small adoption fee, they might not be pups but if they come from a good, loving home they are house broken. This way you can save a dog from going to the shelter that someone might not be able to keep.

its impossible if u want a dog from a breeder or a pet store ( anyways pet stores aren't the greatest places to get a puppy)
try local ads in newspapers or go to ur local pound/ animal shelter and adopt a dog however its usually around $75
(full grown dogs in animal shelters are usually already house broken)
please adopt and save a life :-)

We have a place here in michigan called Adopt-A-Pet. All the animals are free & you get them directly from the owners. They are not in shelters. The owner calls them & they put the owners name on a list & when you call looking for a pet they will call the owner & help you set up a meeting. Then they ask for a donation (The donation amount doesn't matter. You can donate what ever you like.) & the money goes to rescue pets from shelters that are going to be put down. Those animals will be spayed/neutered, vet checked & adopted out. Atleast that's how it used to work. I haven't dealt with them in a few years. but you could check to see if you have anything like that in your area.

"just for a puppy"
Just? Hm.
You wouldn't pay only $200 for something that will be with you for 12+ years?
Anyway, the only place you'll get a puppy of any size for that price is a shelter. No one else would sell one for so little.

Just so you know, an adult dog can be housetrained, I adopted a 2 year old weiner dog, and she was easy to housetrain.
The initial cost of the dog, is not the expensive part, it is the supplies, the vet bills, the food, etc. Try a rescue society.

If I were you I would check with the local Humane Society or animal shelter. The one in my area always has puppies and you can usually find small breed puppies for under $75. Or they can let you know when they get one in.

If you are only will to spend $50.00 to purchase the dog you need to make sure the you would be able to take care of the dog most small breeds needs certain things done to them. Like my Yorkie has to be took to a groomer so they can pull the hair out of her ears so that she doesn't get ear infections . They also need to have their toenails clipped. have bulldogs and a Yorkie I end up spending more on my Yorkie than I do my other 2 dogs put together.

For $50 greenbacks you ain't gonna get plenty. Watch the newspaper & flow verify out what's available interior the pound & the shelters & rescue places. a large style of those places do not undertake out canine this time of three hundred and sixty 5 days. they found out that there are various extra strays after the trip journeys so they stopped adoptions in basic terms for the season. Too a lot of human beings are receiving animals they don't prefer so they simply turn them out or take them to a take care of & the shelters are packed with undesirable, disposable canine, cats, ferrets, birds. while you're identifying to purchase it as a modern it would be smarter to allow the owner to be %. his/her own canine. i comprehend i might hate to have somebody else's selection as to what canine i might prefer.
