First off you have to understand that shows like the Discovery channel have a bias against the accuracy of the Bible and tote the unscientific view of Darwinism which is not real science but more of a philosophy and is a common atheistic viewpoint.

When people mention cavemen they are often meaning some first subhuman creature but again that is not based on real science since there is not any biological mechanism from which one can get a supposedly pre-ape creature and turn it into either apes or humans. Anyone that presents those kind of changes as fact are not following observable verifiable science.

The Bible does mention that God made clothing out of animal skin for Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:21). Adam and eve were created fully developed in body and mind. The Bible does not depict any cavemen in the sense that they are some kind of prehumans only when some people did choose to live in caves usually hiding from those seeking to harm them as Sadam Hussien and Ben Laden both did when the U.S. military was after them.

There are descriptions in the Bible of enourmous beasts in the sea and on land, which are consistant with descriptions of the larger dinosaurs (Job 40:15-24 and all of chapt. 41).
All throughout history and in various cultures around the world there are stories of "dragons" and such. We have to remenber that the word "dinosaur" is from the mid 1800's in the English language and the word for dragon or it's equivalent in other languages goes back centuries and "behemoth" and "Leviatan" are from thousands of years back so dinosaurs have been called different names.

The Bible does not talk about "cavemen" (in the sense of prehumans in-between apes and man). Genesis teaches that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, fully formed.

So let's talk about dinosaurs. Start with reading Genesis 1:24-31. Here is a basic form of logic called a syllogism: T. Rex is a land animal. Land animals were made on day 6. Therefore, T. Rex was made on day 6. So, according to the Bible, dinosaurs lived beside man. Dinosaurs were made on day six of the creation week the same as man; they were beasts of the earth.

And then read Job 40:15-24. Job was questioning God because of his suffering, and so God comes and challenges Job with His creation.

Many people say, “Job 40 can’t be speaking of a dinosaur.” They say that, not because the description of Behemoth doesn’t fit, but because of their preconceived conception that man and dinosaurs didn’t live together.

The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the hippopotamus or the elephant.” Something to keep in mind—the footnotes are not a part of the original text.

Well, the tail of an elephant or hippo is like a twig, not a cedar (most dogs have longer tails). Throughout the Scriptures, cedars were known for their great size and length. Nothing on earth today fits this description, but a sauropod type of dinosaur does.

The largest we have found was over 120 feet long. That sounds to me like the “chief”—not a hippo.

And then in Job 41, God describes the Leviathan (Isaiah 27:1 calls it the dragon in the sea.)

The margin of the NIV says, “Possibly the crocodile.” But the description again doesn’t fit any animal alive today. Besides, man has never had a problem catching crocodiles, even primitive tribes, but God says in Job 41 that Leviathan couldn’t be caught.

Some think this was just a mythical creature since it speaks of it breathing fire. And yes, Job is a poetic book and those could just be poetic descriptions. But not necessarily. Impossible you say?

What about the electric eel that can produce enough electricity to stun a horse? If the electric eel was extinct and all we could find were its fossils, would we be able to know that it could generate electricity? Nope. What about the firefly and anglerfish that can produce light? What about the bombardier beetle that can fire a boiling mixture of chemicals at its enemies that is 212 degrees Fahrenheit?

Why couldn’t God have created certain water-living reptiles that were capable of expelling hot gaseous fumes that could ignite? Most animals produce methane anyway, which is a flammable gas. Stories of fire-breathing dragons have circulated for thousands of years.

Also, keep in mind that Behemoth and Leviathan were included along with real creatures that Job knew about. Read Job sometime.

In Isaiah 30:6, Isaiah speaks of flying serpents [reptiles]. I also find it interesting that Herodotus, the Greek Historian who lived around 450 BC wrote about flying serpents in Arabia. He talked about finding their bones and described their snake-like bodies and bat-like wings. And the Jewish historian from the first century, Josephus, wrote about Moses and the Israelites having a difficult time passing through a particular region because of the presence of flying serpents. I think they were speaking of one of the pterosaurs like the pterodactyl, pteranodon, or rhamphorhynchus.

You would LOVE http://www.icr.org/

They have proven that the ark was big enough to carry all animals (including dinosaurs) - even dinosaur babies are small. And that a world-wide flood would have changed the atmosphere enough to cause the extinction of a number of species. Also, some of those dinosaurs ate around 2000 lbs of vegetation per day. There wouldn't have been enough vegetation after the flood to sustain them, for a long while.

The dinosaurs were created with all the other animals (since they're animals) and existed at the same time as man. That would explain man's footprint in the dinosaurs footprint. Also, the only thing that would explain the creation of fossils would be a sudden, large flood that would even have caused plates to flip over.

All the answers are in the bible.

The authors of the Bible would not have known about Neanderthals, or dinosaurs. They were not included in the Bible. None of the hominids were, and a lot of earth history. If you believe in God, that's fine, but you are beginning to see that the Bible cannot be a literal account of the Earth's history. Some Christians will tell you that dinosaurs coexisted with men, which is ludicrous. Even with modern weaponry we would have trouble contending with some of those beasts, with some sharp sticks?!?! We'd be dinner.
Nothing in science contradicts the existence of a deity. It does, however, tell us that the Bible cannot be a history book, merely a story book that tells the legends of a people.

I think that we need to start reading the Bible in a more metaphorical-allegorical way, meaning ...

Genesis is the story of Adam and Eve, right, and they were innocent until they gave in to temptation ...

That story is a guide-line, it doesn't literally mean that there was an Adam and Eve, or a talking serpant. These are ways generations of people explain human folly, in the most basic terms possible.

If you read the Bible as a message-board for humanity, or as an adventure for the foundation of a monotheistic culture, things make more sense.

Dinosaurs and cavemen are entirely irrelevant if you read the Bible that way.

yes, the bible did talk about dinos. actually, its mentioned in the book of job in chapter 40. it talks about the behemoth, which "feeds on grass like an ox" and has hecka strong stomach muscles. his tail is like a cedar, which is really strong, and rather tall, his bones are very thick and strong, and, in the animal creation, it is said to rank first. the bible also talks about the leviathin. its a rather heavy and strong creature. the bible says, "who can strip off his outer coat. who would approach him with a bridle. who dares open the doors of his mouth ringed about with fearsome teeth." his back has a bunch of shields on it, something like a dino, plus it says that his "snorting throws out flashes of light.... firebrands stream from his mouth, sparks of fire shoot out". so obviously this guy's like, a fire breathing dinosaur.
so yes, there dinosaurs mentioned in the bible.
You need to look at the bible as the ultimate truth, not the supposed scientific facts. for one there is no proof of any cave men with hair all over their bodys and such(i choose to believe there where considering the guys at my school, buuuut..) the "cavemen " that the discovery channel talk about are the missing links and such that there are no bones whatsoever documenting their existance. you really aught not believe what you hear so easily

How could the authors of Scripture know more about science than present day scientists? Should this ignorance be a blow to the authority of the Bible? O course not. The Bible is not a scientific manual. It is a book of revelation about God, his creatures, and their relationship with him. God allowed our understanding of science to develop slowly over the centuries, but he gave us all we needed to know him, love him, and serve him throughout all ages. He gave us divine truth.

Grace and peace!

We must remember that the Bible is the History of God establishing man and woman and then the steps to building that relationship.
It contains the history of the steps God has taken to offer reconciliation to man.
It is NOT, necessarily, the history of the world.

The Bible doesn't mention armadillos or moose either. Why would it? It's not a book of zoology. What did ancient reptiles have to do with the message of salvation??

Richard Dawkins is an idiot.
No, dinosaurs are not mentioned in the Bible, but there were cave dwellers in North American a few hundred years ago.
