To answer some of your remarks, please remember we have ourselves had our food tainted with e-coli an awful lot lately.
How does that much rat poison get into that amout of dog and cat food, if it wasnt done on purpose?

Maybe its a big PETA conspiracy. There known to be crackpots.
Emo, it would make absolutely no sense for someone to spray their fields with rodentcide. Herbicides are routinely used on crops to kill weeds, but never never have I heard of a rodentcide being sprayed onto a field. Even when crops are harvested they don't get sprayed with a rodentcide, storage facilities for crops, be it wheat, corn, soybeans whatever, place traps around the perimeter of the facility.
Also the chemical found, isn't used for rat posion in the U.S. Other countries yes, but not here. In the U.S. it was at one time used as a cancer drug, but not anymore. About the only places that use that chemical anymore are testing facilities.

Blame budget cuts by our own government. The FDA's budget was cut back big time. The FDA states that they can only react when an emergancy occurs. The FDA also ironically inspects the food our pets eat. So it appears that no one is safe from our own government's idiocy, including our dogs and cats. No terrorism was involved in this incident, just a lack of money.

ummm.. well, anything IS possible, but i don't think so in this case. i heard on court tv this morning that the wheat crops were sprayed with the rat poison. its a BIT fishy to me because #1, they knew that those wheat crops were going to be used for pet food, and #2 why in the heck do they have to spray for rats in the wheat fields like that? i'm not a farmer, but wouldn't traps also be effective to some extent? and why didn't someone KNOW that or ask questions to begin with.. weird, but i don't necessarily think it was intentional. but obviously, it was extremely stupid.

Al Qaeda might be responsible for a lot of nastiness but poisoning pets is unlikely to be their fault. Its probably some rat poison that got accidentally added in the factory.

No. Terrorists are out to make a statement to the government and the American people by killing Americans. Surely the terrorists know that as Americans we do not eat cat and dog food and we do not eat our dogs or cats. Yes, this is all tragic, devastating, and costly, however, I think it was an accident.

You know what? Our governement does not protect us the way they should. Humans are legally prescribed "rat poison" everyday. It's called Coumadin. Prescribed to patients like myself to thin the blood in cases of blood clots. Now, I would have to ask- Why in the hell would ANYONE find a need to put that in dog food!?

If you consider thoughtlessness, stupidity, and corporate greed to be a form of terrorism, then yes.

Probably not. If terrorists wanted to put poison in something, they wouldn't put it in pet food, they'd put it in human's food.
