Brush your teeth gently and use mouthwash. Bacterial plaque live on sugars, and when consuming them, produce acids. This is what actually eats away at your teeth. Rinsing away the plaque - and especially the sugars and carbohydrates - stuck to your teeth will help. Then apply Oragel (a topical anesthetic specifically designed for dental use) and take a few Tylenol.

The typical answer would be "get orajel". That typically does nothing for a toothache. That is made for soft tissue like your gums. You would be wise to see a dentist, you probably are developing an infection and would need and antibiotic. You can also go to the drug store and get something with oil of cloves in it and that will help. If a dentist can not be found at this time, the ER at the hospital can give you some antibiotics and pain meds until you can see one. Sometimes, ice water can help. Hope you feel better and remember if you lie down and the blood goes to your head it will probably hurt worse.

It could be infected andif so you need antibiotics from a dentist. And many will give you something for the pain. It's safer to get an appt. and get it checked. Infections don't go away on their own.
