wow u know wut w.e. dude. what makes you think your so right?! we who belive that God is our savior could be just as right as you think you are! we all have free speech and if we belive in god let us be! and we were all born with original sin rooted from adam and eve- at leaste thats what i believe - you are entitled to believe what ever you want and so are christians and other religions. and if your so right than how can you explain miracles- such as the story of Guatolupa and that miracle is proven because it is hung up in the church ofGuatalupa --but fine if you dont want to believe in God then go ahead i think itwill only hurt you later in life.

People are not all knowing. Heck, we thought the world was flat, Al Gore is certain that we are the root of global warming (I wonder who's fault it was that the ice age ended, or how the ice age happened in the first place) and in 1999 "experts" were certain technology would create chaos in the new year. Sadly, Muslums killed thousands of innocent people in New York City based on their twisted interpretation of the Koran. The basic tenants that Jesus taught were good, the stories (learnings, not intended to be fact) were meant to guide us. Look at the way the U.S. Constituiton has been interpreted in the past 200 years (seperatation of Church and State is a great place to look), and you can imagine how many poor interpretations of Christ's teaching have occured in the past 2000 years.

If you honestly think that you have not sinned, good for you. In terms of human history it is hard to argue that there is nothing working hard to keep us from doing good. Christians believe that the temptation we too often succumb to is empirical evidence of original sin, and we are all born into a world that is tainted by it.
but Christians also believe that God did NOT create us to live in that world. He created us to be partakers of His kingdom. All of Christianity is about what God has done to restore that.
Of course we have the potential to do great and wonderful things. The glory of Christianity is that our potential is so much greater than our weakness. 'We shall become like God, for we shall see Him as He is'.

I deconverted from Christianity after I saw problems with it, like intolerance and people using doctrine to prevent science from progressing (I was raised a Christian, but I unbrainwashed myself). I now worship nature and the power of life and strive to lead a good life with the knowledge that nobody knows for sure what happens after death. I believe in progress and science and in working toward a better future for humans. I feel more free than I ever have now.

An omnipotent God cannot create a morally free creature incapable of choosing to sin. Hence, sin has entered the originally perfect creation because our human representatives chose to sin.
Just as we bear the consequences of the choices our elected representatives make on our behalf, we all bear the consequences of the first humans' choices.

You certainly have the right to base your beliefs on whatever you want--even your own musings and opinion. I choose to base my beliefs on the Bible because I have studied, tested it, and found it to be true and reliable. Therefore, I believe God when he tells me how we came to be and what our situation is in regards to sin and salvation.
Communism was formed from the idea that if we could just get rid of our belief in God, man would progress to a far greater state of existence. It didn't work. In fact suppressing a belief in God lead to greater oppression, poverty, and corruption--not greater love.
Yes, mankind has the potential to do great and wonderful things, but that potential comes from God himself. We only have the ability to truly love when we rest in the one whose love is perfect.
Blessings.

If you're done ranting and raving, I'll try to answer your question. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, its in the book of Romans. I don't believe you that you say my faith stands in the way of human progress, quite the opposite, my faith enables me to do all things thru Christ, who strengthens me.
We are to not seek our own glory ,but to glorify God and His son Jesus. Man does have the potential to do great things, but only because God has given mankind the knowledge, the wisdom and ability to do. We are nothing without our faith. If you don't believe me, ask an atheist if she/he is really happy or feels fulfilled in their life. I'm guessing no.

lol @ skeptic... that was a good one ;)
Sorry to break it to you, but you’re not a super star. You can only manipulate what’s already on earth, but the earth in its natural state is not created by anyone else other than a very Intelligent Designer, whom you shun as Lord. Unfortunately, you want an answer to your running sentences that doesn’t even have an open door for answers. May the Lord God forgive you.
Romans 1:18-20
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

If you do not believe that all hae sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD then you make GOD out to be a liar because that is what HIS word says. You need to check yourself! If you are so convinced of the things you say then why do you need to rail on Christians? If all is as you believe it to be then aren't you just gonna be fine in spite of what we believe???
Me thinks thou doth protest too much!!!!
