The actual date is uncertain. Since Ezekiel mentions the book of Job (Ezekiel 14:14) it must have been written before the book of Ezekiel was written (592-570 B.C.). Some believe it may have been written in the time of Solomon (950 B.C.) because it shares characteristics of other "wisdom literature" written during that period and is more of a dramatic poem describing real events that a verbatim report of events.
From details in the book itself, it appears as though the events took place during the time of Abraham.

The date of the writing is uncertain. Job is the first of the "Wisdom" books written in the OT canon the others being Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Ezek.14:14,20and James 5:11 refer to Job as an "historical" person. That he may have lived in the Patriarchal period is inferred from his great age. That is about all I can tell you.
