After death- is the judgement!
This is why it matters how we live!
We each of us have to give account!
Are you born again by God's Spirit?
Are your sins forgiven?
Are you assured of a place in Heaven?

Jesus Christ is the Judge.
John 5:29 - And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
1 Peter 3:21 - The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Revelation 20:5 - But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:6 - Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

You judge yourself. And the point of living a decent life in the first is so that in the second you can show yourself up!
You receive nothing whether good or bad, unless from another human. But whatever, live your life decent as you can because some people who believe in reincarnation may doubt it at times.

Good question.
This is why I don't believe in Hell or Heaven in the traditional sense.
Free will can not be free if you think you will be punished or rewarded. You would then only be pursuing a prize.
The reason "how you live you life" matters is because we where created to shape ourselves into good people. In my humble opinion anyway. I don't really care if there is an after life, I want to live my given life by what my Creator had planned.

Our life and actions here will determine where we spend eternity and who with. The Celestial Kingdom is the ultimate destination for me and most of the LDS members (Mormons) and there are different degrees of glory, or kingdoms, because we are all different, we don't believe in just a "heaven" or "hell" because obviously some people will live better than others and some will live better than those and some will live better than those...
God and Christ will be the judges.

if you don't believe in life after death, then why does it matter how we live?
It turns out that what makes how we live matter has got nothing to do with whether there is life after death or not. Everyone faces the same question regardless of what they believe. Why should I act with virtue?
The answer of course is simple...experientially acting well is its own reward. Giving something to someone in kindness is rewarding...while giving something to someone out of guilt is not rewarding.
We tend to think that gettin what we want is the most rewarding thing in life, when in fact doing what's right is far more rewarding...just more difficult for us to figure out.

The quality of this life (how you treat others) will determine the quality in the next life......when you see how you effected others in the afterlife, you'll understand why it's important how you live today....I believe we are here for spiritual growth and these lessons don't end, even after we die....so, let's go as far as we can on our path while we are here and pick it up when we get over there.

None of us are good. That's why Jesus died for us. If we believe in Jesus and accept Him as our Savior, we have life after death.
