If it is a solid divider or a parkway then no. If a fire truck can't cross it you don't have to stop.

Not unless you are coming to an intersection at which the truck is turning into your path. This assumes the lights are flashing and siren going. If the fire truck is just driving, then it is just another vehicle. By the way, the poster that answered that the fire trucks and ambulances don't legally have the right of way isn't necessarily right for the place you live. There are jurisdictions where that is so, and he lives in one I presume, but in may areas, such as where I live, it is definitely the law.

When a fire truck or ambulance has it's lights and sirens on it is not mandatory that you pull over. There isn't a law that says you must stop for an emergency vehicle, except when given a legal order by a peace officer. Fire engines and ambulances are only asking for the right of way and most people will pull over out of common courtesy. It is a common that we have to stop for traffic because people will not give the right of way for our trucks.

In Wisconsin, you do not have to pull over for an emergency vehicle on a divided highway. The reason you are pulling over is to give them room to pass you. If the highway is divided, this would not be the case.

Yes..no matter which side of the road you or the fire truck is on..everyone pulls over and clears a path down the middle.
Even with a center divider because those vehicles are built to go over it. You have no clue where they are heading.
Hubby is a cop so I just asked and confirmed that yes both sides are to pull over

If the lights are on and siren is on the firetruck will use whatever side of the road it finds is open. That includes driving on the other side of the road. If it is your house on fire or in an accident you want the emergency vehicle there fast.

Not if it's a divided highway and there is no chance he can get into your lane. All other times, when he has his lights and siren on, you're supposed to yield the right of way.
