I threw a banana cream pie (or perhaps coconut creme or lemon meringue, but you get the idea) in my English teacher's face? We have had our differences, so throwing a pie seems like a harmless way to make an emphatic point.
Personally, I do not see what the big deal is because pies are soft and it would wash off in the next laundry. She certainly does not wear expensive clothing. I was thinking of just asking her if she had any food allergies first, just to be on the safe side.
Would you be upset if your 16 year old daughter threw a pie at a teacher?
Thank you and good day.

Yes that is a good point. The golden age of humour is long past us. The banality of the modern era simply confounds me.

My older brother suggested dousing her with a bucket of Gatorade like they do in professional sport but I am a petite girl, so it would hard for me to lift it above my shoulders. The pie seems to be the more efficient approach.

I think you should go for it. i would probably laugh at my daughter. It sounds like your teacher had it coming. You should do it on the last day of classes though.

I would be upset with my daughters if they threw a pie at anyone. It shows such a lack of respect for the victim.I would have told my daughters if they wanted to be treated with respect and maturity at home then they had better demonstate those qualities outside the home as well. There are many ways to resolve issues without resorting to humiliating someone. The point isn't the pie ,it is the lack of respect.

ummm.... yes.
teachers are supposed to command some respect. throwing a pie at one would be extremely disrespectful. Funny yes. But parents want to raise kids who are respectful and mature towards authority figures. its not so much that it wouldn't physically harm her, its because it is insulting.
you throw a cream pie at a your boss and your fired in the real world. school is preparing you for the real world.
just because you have your differences doesn't mean you can launch a pie bomb. you'll have differences with people throughout you life and run into people who don't understand you. who cares. you start a pie war and it could go on for generations, underclass-men every year would throw a pie to gain your glory and pretty soon it will be like the middle east but with pies. do you want to be responsible for that?
pie in the face... funny, but at what cost?

DON'T DO IT! If you have a real problem with your teacher talk to her about it. Throwing things at her (hard or soft) is NOT going to help. I am a teacher, too (a guy, not a girl, though). I wd absolutely NOT tolerate anything like that. My daughter is only 12. But if she did anything like that, I would ground her for a month, and that wd be the good part.

Yes. You would be knocked upside the head, grounded and then knocked upside the head some more.
I see your English teacher has done a good job teaching you spelling and grammar - why not just let the school year finish and go on your way?
Why not take the high road?
You are on your way to a great future - leave this grudge in the past.

I have no comment on the pie throwing, other than this...
By the way you communicate and by your vocabulary, you seem to be an educated, well spoken, mature, intelligent person...I imagine you could come up with a better, more civilized way to prove your point.
I would be disappointed with my daughter if she was as intelligent as you seem to be, and she pulled a stupid stunt like the one you are proposing.

i would L-O-V-E to throw a pie at a few of my teacher's faces. however, this can be seen somehow as disrespectful and teachers make this huge point of their lives about becoming respected authority figures, which personally seems like a waste of time and they never make it to that status, and they are very blech about it. its seen as offensive and also a form of endangering according to my school. (possibly their eyesight or something?) i would instead mentally throw pies at her. this way you can do it all day long without getting in any trouble and also saving ingredients. but, a good idea that im using at the end of this year is writing a nasty anonymous note to them

Yes I would. Not only is that disrespectful, but she could also press charges on you (or your parents) if she wanted. You would probably be suspended, and your parents might be mad and ground you. There would be a weird vibe between you and the teacher. And, you would be forever known as a pie thrower. People will joke about it long after it happened, and it might get old. Please don't do it.

In the 60s to 80s not a huge deal but today--ugh, school's seem to have lost their sense of humour.

I must say, I appreciate your excellent use of grammar and punctuation, as well as your interesting vocabulary choices. However, your well-spoken argument is not sufficient to justify a-pie-in-the-face gag, classic as it is. Therefore, were you my girl, I'd kick your @ss.
p.s. checking on food allergies would have been a nice touch.
