5 minutes per side per inch. So If you steak is 1 1/2 inches thick cook approx. 5 min. on one side and 2 1/2 on the other or split it up evenly. If it's fresh and you get a slightly pink (rawish) center...don't worry about it....adds flavor

is it a whole fish or a slice -

fish usually doesn't take long to cook - sometimes it's a matter of minutes but you need to know what you want to do with it

7 minutes give or take...watch it though as it easily dries out
