Yes. When I had a cat, my dogs would eat the cats poo out of its litter box. Trust me. There's nothing wrong.

Totally normal and completely undesirable.
The average digestive system of a dog in very short and a lot of the food passes through without being digested. It is this undigested food that your dog smells and is going after when he eats another dog's feces.
If your dog has a full set of vaccinations he should be safe from most of the infections that can be in feces but if he hasn't received a full set of vaccinations he could get very sick. Try to keep him from eating the leavings. I have a dog that I have about 80% control over in this matter. Sometimes, however the little eating machine grabs a piece and runs as fast as he can so that he can be far enough away to eat it in peace.
BUT human, did you say? If any neighbor came and left a deposit on my front lawn I might be tempted to shoot him in the butt with rock salt. There's just no training some neighbors.

It's normal. If he's only eating his own, there are tablets you can buy at Petsmart or Petco called Deter, it puts a bitter taste in their poop so they won't eat it anymore. If he's eating someone else's, you'll just have to try and keep him away from it.

I don't know where he'd get ahold of human poop, but that could cause some serious diseases if he ingested it!

LOL, dogs are bizarre. My 8 month old female APBT eats poo as well. Not that I condone it, because I don't and I try to do everything possible so er.. poo isn't availabe to her. But if she finds a dirty diaper, that girl feasts like she hasn't ate in a week.

It's normal, just something some dogs do. Granted its gross and I wouldnt recommend you helping your dog to do it lol. But I dont think it is anything to worry about.

It is something that he is laking in his diet. Change his food. Put him on something like science diet or just ask your vet what to feed him. It is also a very discusting habit. I had Boston Terriers that were bad about doing it, but they wouldn't do it if I was watching them. They knew I would fuss at them. They would wait until I turned away to eat it. I just got in the habit of cleaning it up as soon as it hit the ground and this didn't give them the chance to eat it.

Unfortunately some dogs are weird and do that. I'd recommend taking him to the vet, they might have something to make him stop doing that. One question though, how did he get a hold of human poop?

Yes, it's very common, but should not be allowed or encouraged. The feces of other dogs especially could contain diseases and parasites, which could then infect your dog if ingested.
