Why would you buy a dog without papers? That's the only way to find out if the puppy is purebred. It's also what all reputable breeders give you. Reputable breeders; the only people you should ever consider buying a Pug or Akita from.

$1000 for Pug
$1500 for Akita

Buy an Akita without papers and it will probably cost you a fortune - in Vet's bills. Akitas are a wonderful breed but buy one from a dubious source and you are risking getting a dog with multiple health problems and bad temperament - all in a very heavy powerful dog. Pugs are also subject health problems & backyard breeders.
You can buy a well bred Akita from a reputable breeder for around £600 - £700 if you do your research, contact the breed club, attend some shows and talk to breeders until you find one who really knows their breed & only breeds a litter with the improvement of the breed in mind & not for the money they might make. The same applies to the Pug.

I have an akita, he cost us £700, and this was from a reputable breeder, she knew what she was doing, and all the paper work was there. She has even kept in contact with us. BTW truthseekr I don't know where you got your akita from but I've only ever known intelligent, friendly, and loving akitas. They are great pets, but you do have to take care of them. Also about the pug, to my knowledge as have been looking for a pug myself for the last few years, though am not allowed one yet, they seem to cost around £700 +. Always good to get recommendations from people you know that already have one of these, as they will be able to send you to the right breeder.

I know nothing about Pugs but know about Akitas. Expect to pay £650 - £1000 for a well-bred, KC registered Akita in England, depending on the area and breeder. I personally wouldn't pay more than £700 for a purebred Akita but that's just me.

I've seen Akitas without papers go for about £400.

I don't know why someone would post about his poorly bred Akita...

Pugs are expensive-around a thousand from a decent breeder.

A well bred akita will be about 400 at least too.

Akita puppies usually cost within the 300-500$ range. Pugs are usually very pricey. Around 1000$.

Hi,

I've just been having a look on ePupz for you ... the prices also vary depending on where in the country the pups are - so you might want to look on ePupz yourself to specify a particular area - however:

PUG
Pug crosses start at £200, adult pugs are from £475, & both registered & unregistered purebred puppies start at £750 & go up to £1,000.

AKITA
There's one free adult Akita cross & a purebred 2 year old for £150, puppies both kc registered & unregistered start at £250 & go up to £900.

Hope this helps

I have to tell you my experience. I got an Akita dog and its temperament was TERRIBLE. This dog was so slow-witted and nervous all the time. I have had several dogs and this was by far the worst dog, ever. I later learned that they are the least intelligent dog breed. They are beautiful but think twice before bringing an Akita home.
