i listened to all the excellent advice which helped so much. when you are grieving so much it is hard to not ask if there was more you could have done.I know now he had an avoidant personality syndrome diagnosed as O.C.D when he was fifteen. He cured the ocd with alchohol dependance. Then the shy reclusive boy was able to socialise. without the alchohol he could not.He never admitted he had a problem with drinking he just said he could not be him the real him without the confidence alcohol gave him to live day to day. Why could no doctor or proffessional he saw see through the real problem and help him.I hope noone else loses a son this way

I am truly sorry for your loss. My husband's father passed away a couple months ago due to alcohol, he was really dependant on it and I could never see why because he had such a nice family. Well, his family also took him to the doctors and all they did was give him medication for his dependancy, it never really helped. This is all what they seem to do now, is give people medication when they really need help not medications. I am sorry that this happened. I don't know why doctors overlook this, it really is a problem.

Sorry for your loss.

Death is a part of life, as we know, but it is probably the hardest part for those of us left in the wake.

Best wishes to you and your family.
