My husband has recently taken up sea fishing and takes pictures of his fish that he catches so that we can identify them when he gets home. I have only one site that I have used but it does not have the last two fish he caught on there. Does anyone know of any other sites that we can use that has a vast data base?

What do the fish look like?
There are several factors to take into account when identifying fish.

Flat or round?
Shape of the tail.
The shape and arrangement of the fins.
The shape of the mouth and the teeth.
Obviously the colour and any markings.
Location of the catch. Estuary, rocks, deep/shallow water.
Time of year.

That could be the problem, with global warming we're getting unusual fish so look further afield
