There is no such thing as a free puppy. You may be able to get a puppy off of someone you know that had puppies for that cheap, but you will still need to pay for neutering/spaying, deworming, shots, vet visits, food, toys etc.
Your best bet would be to get a dog from an animal shelter, it will probably cost $100 - $200 depending on where you live but comes fixed with shots. but remember to put aside money for emergency vet visits and check ups.

Ask around. We got my dog for free because some family didn't want her anymore. Also, you may be able to find a somewhat cheap dog through a local shelter or organization. Just remember, owing a dog is a HUGE responsibility and you will probably end up spending a lot more than $50 in vet fees, shots, food, and sometimes damages.

go to local pounds, shelters, local adoption events.
But if you are looking for such a cheap dog, I hope you have the money it costs to have a dog like a shih tzu. You have to pay vet bills, get shots, food, toys, GROOMER, leash, collar, bed, etc.... You may need other things like a crate, the list goes on and on, the money associated to take proper care of a dog or cat. Or most pets.

If you can't afford to spend any more than $50 buying a dog then how do you propose to pay for food, vet bills, etc.? These are the kinds of things you need to think about before you get a dog.

If you can only afford $50 for a dog you have not business getting a dog. You can't afford it. Dogs are super expensive for feeding, vet care, and basic essentials. Wait until you want the dog a little more- you will likely be a better pet owner at that time.

you should always look for a pet at a pet shelter, first. rather than a pet store.
theere are more pets there in need of your love, than at an overpriced pet store.
you can also, ask friends and neighbors. if they have had any litters of puppies recently.
a lot of times, neighbors have their dog accidentally impregnated, and they have a whole litter of puppies that they don't know what to do with them. and they all end up in the poor shelters.
so ask around, and visit lots of shelters!

look for a shih tzu rescue society. There are specific rescue society's on line for almost every breed of dog. Looked up one myself when I was looking for a border collie. So check that or as suggested above.

50? good luck..even through a shelter you will pay 100 plus...but the pup will be checked and probably (hopefully) fixed.
I would have to say that a shelter or rescue is going to be your best bet...
Breeders put alot of work into having these pups...they are not going to take $50 for their time and even the money that they have in the pup...I just took my litter in for puppy shots and the worming and it cost me 30 per pup...that was just today...so again...good luck...

The only place I can think of is at a animal welfare league where you can adopt a dog. but if you want a pure breed they are going to cost more than 50. good luck.
