Whenever I send this guy who I'm talking to online an email saying something sweet he always seems to call me up and embarass me about it, not in a bad way he just likes to give me a hard time in a jokingly way. Is this becuz he's flattered and doesn't know how to express it? or Is he just not use to being complimented? He always compliments me but it's different when I do this to him.

He may not know how to take compliments or does not necessarily believe what you're saying truly applies to him. I'm rather hideous and ogre-like so when my gf compliments me, I wonder if her vision is failing. Likewise, when I tease her, it's because I love her. I don't tease just anyone. I don't joke at all with my ex and for good reason - teasing conveys a sense of emotional intimacy. It's like when boys would pick on girls in school. Usually, it was the ones they liked - it was their way of showing attention to them. I, on the other hand, in 3rd grade couldn't take it anymore and walked up and just smacked a kiss on her cheek. She was ticked, but the teacher thought it was cute so I didn't get in too much trouble. Gosh, if that were today, I'd be expelled, in juvi, taking unlawful harassment classes. But I digress.

If you LIKE being given a hard time, continue as in the past. On the other hand, it seems to bother you so I'd let him know exactly how you feel. Never let another disrespect you and your needs and desires.
