The best approach of all is to sit down, have a talk and be honest. Let the other person know how you feel and give them a reasonable amount of time to move out.
Stay calm and in control of the situation.

If you pay the rent or own the house tell him he has to leave. If he's been a good guy explain why. Dump is not a good word!!

Tell him you dont think the relationship is working out and that you think it would be best if he found another place. Just be clear and to the point.
