When I was younger, up until I was 18, I never needed deodorant. I could work out actively and never stink. But now, I need deodorant to keep from smelling. Why??? I read that sweat does not actually stink, it's the bacteria or germs on your skin that stink, and sweat just magnifies the smell. So I always kept my armpits clean, and I thought it was working. But now it doesn't help. When I shower everyday, I take extra time out to clean my pits, but I still stink!! How do I kill the bacteria? I don't want to cover up the smell. I want to get rid of it, and go back to the days when I didn't need deodorant! Is there anything I can do??? Because soap alone isn't working. Should I shave my pits? Would that help? I hate that I need deodorant.

I'm not trying to stop the sweating... It's normal to sweat. My concern is the odor. I used to sweat and not stink. Now I do, and I don't want to use deodorant to cover up the stink... I want to sweat and not stink like I used to

Sweat does too smell if it's from the apocrine glands (the type of sweat glands located in the groin & pits). It's hormone-like chemicals made by your body, and the bacteria don't help matters. Chances are you fully developed around age 18, and now you're noticing the difference. Shaving the armpits does help, but may be considered odd if you are male.
I doubt you can just "go back" to the old days when you didn't need deodorant--don't make others suffer because you're feeling nostalgic. Get a good antiperpirant (this part is most important) with or without deodorant. I read a consumer report several years ago that said Mitchum is good; I also like Secret. Other stuff can be a little weak.
If this isn't cutting it, you can see a doctor for prescription-strength products.
Additionally, shower daily or more with deodorant soap (especially during the summer or after a workout), and leave it on your skin a few seconds before you rinse it off.

It could have a lot to do with the stuff that you're putting into your body (drinking and eating). Drink more water, less soda, less red meats, bread, and sugar saturated products.
A good vitamin supplement to take on a daily basis is magnesium. That could help with stinky pits too!
Also, after scrubbing the heck out of your armpits with a good deodorant-antibacterial soap and wash cloth, you can take some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and wiping your armpit area with the saturated cotton ball, then let it air dry.
I have found that Mitchum is one of the best deodorant/anti-perspirants on the market, without a prescription. You also might have some kind of minor condition that makes you emit some kind of pungent odors from the pit area. If it keeps up then maybe seek out help from your physician.
Good luck!

Why not try an antiperspirant? Deo just covers up the smell, but I find Antiperspirants stop the sweat and the smell. Perhaps your hormones kicked in later than others! Try some, you won't regret it!
PS. if you are a girl, shaving your pits will help.
Best of luck! :)
PSS. You need something! Try baking soda or whatever but accept the fact that you stink now. You choose what to do, but just know, it won't go back to what it used to be. Humans stink, it's natural. We just don't want to smell it! So, put on "something" to get rid of the funk and accept it. :)

It probably has something to do with your body chemistry. Just use deodorant! What's the problem? Are you allergic or just cheap. Everyone should use deodorant after puberty, people will have a smell after a few hours no matter how hard they try.

Personal hygiene is the first step to good grooming and good health. Elementary cleanliness is common knowledge. Neglect causes problems that you may not even be aware of. Many people with bad breath are blissfully unaware of it. Some problems may not be your fault at all, but improving standards of hygiene will control these conditions. Dandruff is a case in point. More often than you know, good looks are the result of careful and continuous grooming.
Every external part of the body demands a basic amount of attention on a regular basis. Here are some grooming routines and some complaints associated with neglect.
Hair
Skin
Teeth
Hands
Nails
Feet

At this age i did no longer ask my son if he showered, I asked if he used cleansing soap and shampoo. you could tension him to comb his enamel. He purely would not prefer to make the attempt. Have a enamel brush and toothpaste in the kitchen or powder room and characteristic him to it with you there a minimum of two times an afternoon. Washing his face is proboly on the backside of his checklist of issues to do. some adult males at this age do no longer care approximately pimples. except you will stand over him to get him to bathe there is not any concern to do approximately it. you could make him bathe popular while college starts. teach him a recurring he could be doing now that he's older. Inculding washing his face, mouth wash and deorderant.

It's important to practice good hygiene,
At least if you want to run with my team.
I'm ‘bout to get into some **** that I've seen.
This fool's breath forments so bad it'll melt your ice cream.
They say don't say nothing if you cant say nice things
Sittin' too close and hear my boy like my eye sting
I tired to be subtle, hand him a stick of gum
I was a victim of breath on hum
Running his yap about what sets he from
Gotta get some gum, gotta gets him some
He turned it down, his teeth was brown
excruciating, foreign, it was a new sensation
I had to ask the dope to pass the soap
Cuz his toe had the stench of crustaceans
Or bathrooms in the bus station
He had a can of O.E. and some raisins
Amazin'
Head to toe BO, he didn't know
Used to the fragrance
Just as the days went without bathin'
He felt manly and not like a maiden
He had one dread and fungus
Said he worked on people's toilets with plungers
Girls, not a guy who you'd want ta tounge ya
So guys take your cue from this little number
You gotta wash your ***, if you must
You gotta wash your hair, if you must
You gotta brush your teeth, if you must
Or else you'll be funk-ay
To wash up
You gotta wash your ***, if you must
You gotta wash your hair, if you must
You gotta brush your teeth, if you must
Or else you'll be funk-ay
To wash up
To, to, to wash up
To, to, to, to wash up
To, to, to wash up
To, to, to, to wash up
Now in class you need total concentration,
But there's kids in the back holding conversations
Crackin' on each other and neither were poster boys
Both of ‘em smelled like the type that soap avoid
Coast enjoyed a leave of absence
One fool's feet smelled like it struck some matchsticks
Brimstone
Girls would never bring him home
I was laughin' and his friend raised his tone and said:
[different voice] Bud, you rolled all over yourself
Yeah, I'll go so deep on your *** you'd be submerged
Like you need to do in water cuz you smell like a turd
Want a cap, get some courage your feet smell lurid
But look it up and while you at it get a cup
And squeeze the sweat out your sweatshirt and drink it or gargle
You get our vote for most stinkiest
That ****** started thinking the ****
Said I was frail, I said he was stale
Under arms is ripe, undergarments tight
Bout the leap out your holy sweats
Then we hold him messin’ after this I'm gonna collect
****** check yourself, respect yourself
And watch your motherfuckin' body ‘fore your sweatshirt melt
You're radioactive no lady find you attractive
The funk got you captive
You don't need a map, *****
You gotta wash your ***, if you must
You gotta wash your hair, if you must
You gotta brush your teeth, if you must
Or else you'll be funk-ay
To wash up
You gotta wash your ***, if you must
You gotta wash your hair, if you must
You gotta brush your teeth, if you must
Or else you'll be funk-ay
To wash up
To, to wash up
To, to, to wash up
To, to, to, to wash up
To, to, to wash up
‘ave some , ‘ave some, ‘ave some soap for my face
a- a- ‘ave some soap for my face
a- a- a- a- ‘ave some soap for my face
a- a- ‘ave some soap for my face [fading away]

um idk what the question is, but u should shower everyday, use deoderant [[DONT OVERLOAD, as a woman i no it smells DISGUSTING]] and a clean cut guy is always attractive. not a shaved head... if ur under 18 maybe go with kind of longish [[to like the ear]] hair..
http://www.teenidols4you.com/thumb/Actors/cody_linley/TI4U_u1151704073.jpg
like that...
if ur over that age, maybe go a little shorter, but if ur losing hair and u no it, get it cut shorter, theres nothing worse than a combover of a guy with long hair thats balding!
