My father accidenly lost his balance (while climing up on a chair to get something) and fell on top of my African Grey only 4 months old. I took him to Animal Medical Center located in Manhattan for Trauma. I believe he died on the way there. the doc said he was already dead. But I thought I saw him still moving. although I know it was an accident I am having a hard time dealing with it.

Involuntary movement.
It wouldn't matter if the spinal connection was or was not entirely severed: the nerves sometimes remain active for several minutes after actual death, causing the muscles to expand or contract. Your bird probably died close to instantly.
Really a shame, sorry it ended that way.
I know giving advice right now is somewhat cold and obviously hindsight is 20/20, but next time keep your bird in a safe place in or near its cage.

well its the bird neck just broked the n its already dead ? ? if you rethinking that you saw it moving cant happen . cause if the neck is just breaked half there no way that the bird brain can stilll control the dead body . maybe you though and wish was still alive. but girl youre bird is dead. and you should blame on youre dad for killing youre poor pet bird. you know what you can is that you can ask youre dad to buy you a another new bird that is more bigger size that can fly away in case it happen again . you should put the bird some where else safe place so that whenever youre dad is planning to climb a ladder and almost going to fall down then he wouldnt able harm the bird again next time.

Very few vets will treat a wild bird. Try to find a organization that deals with wild animals and/or birds. I live in Ottawa Ontario, Canada and there is a wonderful facility that provides exceptional care to many species of birds. The Wild Bird Care Centre has specialists to diagnose, qualified workers, and volunteers who feed baby birds and the injured. The birds are released when ready. Some remain in the facility if they cannot fend for themselves and if a bird is determined to be incurable, they don't let it suffer, they euthanize it.

No, unfortunately no. There are many important vessels in the neck that carry some oxygenation to vital organs and feed oxygen rich blood to the brain itself. There is no trauma center for birds and the technology isn't readily available to conquer such a task. A surgeon than specializes in parrots? Doubtful. It would be too late for the unlucky bird. Hope you never have to witness that trauma and you have a good year.

That is very sad; a parrot is almost like a member of the family.
A broken neck is usually fatal to any animal.
Remember the good times you had. It will take a while, but in time you will not feel so sad.

No, a broken neck will sever the spinal cord causing death. Besides, anything strong enough to break the neck will cause other major injuries. If your bird is injured and still alive, take it to the vet ASAP.

My cat attacked my bird and broke it's neck. Poor bird head was on backwards (no joke). He lived for a few days until my brother took him into the laundry room and drowned him. He did not want to watch it suffer.
