If mary was one of gods children...
Didn't god have a child with one of his own children?

And how did god give up his only son if we are all his children?

We are all Gods creation ....Those that are born again ( John 3:3 ) will be his children in heaven . God humbled himself of his glory and became a human being to be (sin ) on the cross for the payment of his children sins. God is perfect , if he had a child with a woman that child would have been a sinner.

We are all Gods children because God created us. The meaning of giving his only begotten son is giving the only child of God who realized in full and understood God.

A local marine just died saving the lives of his other marines.
Duty and love causes people to do that sort of thing.
His parents gave up their son to serve our country. They did not want him to die. He died because of the enemy
God did not want Jesus to die on the Cross. Jesus died on the cross because other people put him there.
Mary did not conceived Jesus through a sexual experience. God, a Spirit, is not sexual. If God can create the world, God can allow Mary to become a mother without having sex.

We are all Gods children in a sense but not biologically so its not like incest or anything -- God didn't come down and have sex with Mary or anything. It was a conception by miracle done by the Holy Spirit. So because the Holy Spirit is God in spirit he was concieved by God in a literal sense rather us who is his children in spiritual sense.

The answer is clearly outlined in Hebrews Chapter one.
I have a fleshly father and a fleshly mother. I am not aware of anyone having a spirit father outside of Jesus Christ.
