If you cheated, then obviously there was something missing in your relationship. Why would you want to make up?
It is up to the person that was cheated on to forgive you if they choose. There is absolutely nothing you can do to persuade them one way or another.

After cheating, go jump in a river and drown. Or if you really want, you can hop out a window. Or maybe if you're the type, borrow a razor from someone and slit your wrists. If you're a wuss and afraid of pain, sleeping pills are the way to go. G'luck!

Well, by the tone of your question, it sounds like you've just cheated on your bf/gf. If I'm right, then here's what I have to say:
If your bf/bg/xbf/xgf is smart, than s/he will stay the hell away from you. You've betrayed their trust by giving yours to someone else, so if they ditch you then that's what you deserve.
