Is it all through donations?

Another question I have is this. I don't know too much about politics but what of Christians running for office. Can they pledge that they'll fund some of the churchs or is it against the doctrine "Seperation of State and Church"?

Separation of church and state is a completely moot point in this country. So much of our politics is based on faith that it's completely ridiculous. Almost any politician in this country is grilled about their faith, and most base their political careers solely on keeping people of a certain faith happy. A lot of churches and religious organizations have been receiving government support for decades. It's insane.

It is church buildings. The church is the people, not the building. But you are right that we do not need all the gold and stuff. Our church builds nice, but simple buildings and puts the money to doing good. We must have a building because we are commanded to meet together on the first day of the week and in most towns, we have outgrown the house church. It is a better investment to build than to rent and then we can use the building any day we wish. By the way, I go to the Church of Christ

Don't know about the politics side of it, but I can tell you a bit about finances and Catholic parishes in the USA.

In the US, each Catholic Church is part of a "corporate entity" which is the local diocese. The way it works, bottom line, is that each church pays for its own operating expenses from the weekly collection and any fundraisers it might undertake. Some dioceses will do a drive where money is collected and distributed to the poorest of parishes in that diocese.

There is no doctrine of separation of church and state. It is a "no - no" for the State to set up a National Church (which we do not have in the USA)

Most churches get their funds from contributions. Some own property and also make funds by selling property, or renting, etc.

Some lie and cheat. (just being honest)

First of all, some churches have a hierarchy that they send contributions to, and they split it between all the churches, kind of a "sharing the wealth" philosophy. There are other churches such as independent churches that use the monies given by members, and that's what they use to get by.

On the second question, churches and pastors risk losing their 501c3 status (non- taxable) by supporting specific candidates. However, those candidates are allowed to speak in such forums.

1--Donations, tithing, fundraising, especially for building and maintenance projects including a special pledge or special tithe.

2--They cannot promise or use public dollars to fund churches. Breaks the separation rule.

It is all through donations.

Yes, it is unconstitutional for the government to fund or support any specific religion/church.

Christian churches probably wouldn't want that anyways. When the Christian universities started taking funding from the government they ended up being controlled by it. They are nowhere near the quality of education they used to be.

here is where the BILLIONS come from

some people TITHE as the bible instructs. pronounced tie-th, tighthing is giving 10% of your GROSS INCOME directly to the church. others hem and haw and give 10% of their NET pay or whatever or even nithing at all but 10% of gross is what they are supposed to do.

there are many different clubs, organizations and private business and even church businesses that raise tons of $$$

they dont pay taxes

most churches have major real estate investments but especially the cathotic churchs who in NJ alone have diocese owning 21% of ALL the land in the state

people die and bequeath their fortunes to the church including their real estate

Its through Tithes and offerings. Everything is. At my church anyway, we dont believe in raising money like a garage sale, ect. We believe God will provide and with our church being so small, he really has!

Yes, it is through donations. That is how it works and that is how it should work. And when I give money to my church, I know that they it is used for the Kingdom purposes. I have never regretted the money I give to my church, the best investment ever. I wish I could give more. I do much better with part of my income with Gd's blessing than 100 % of my income of my own.
