Because some of them have been exposed as frauds. But not all of them are frauds. We are in spiritual warfare with the devil. And he will use whoever he will to bring and bad name on the church. When the Word of God is preach on satellite to so many millions of people everyday, the devil has to initiate a plan to corrupt the message by making the televangelists look like frauds. It's spiritual warfare against the church. Revelations talks about how the dragon was agry with the woman and went to make war with her seed.

I have no idea why televangelists get a bad rap. Let me ask Ted Haggard, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim & Tammy Baker and Benny Hinn and I'll get back to you.

They con people into giving them their money.
They will "pray" for you if only you call their "prayer line" ($1.99 first minute, $4.99 ea additional minute; applicable fees apply).
In otherwords, because they are lying, stealing, con-men...doubly evil because they usually prey on the old blue-hairs sitting around on sunday looking for a way to get in on Pascal's Wager, since they could die at any second.

They are well known for fleecing the flock of GOD. But alas the name of Christ is being preached so they can be a good thing. Just watch your wallet.

all the ones I have ever seen are on there begging for money. they are usually dripping with jewelry and living lavish lifesyles, but constantly want more and more money. the last one I saw on TV was saying, just sew your seed of "only" 1000.00 or 500.00. money money money...that's what they want to give themselves a fat wallet

If you don't read the bible daily ..you can be mislead..you have to be careful watching those people , ....not all of them are a bad apple
