7:13 is great time for a 7th grader, i give you props. Yea your brother has no idea about running so don't listen to him. Anyways i think that you should try to get 5:30 your freshman year in high school because if you could do that you'll be RAW

1) It isn't called a "score"; it's a "time".
2) I do not think that your goal is reachable for you. It would cut your time down by 1 minute and 43 seconds. When you are talking about the mile, there isn't too much time to improve during one season. Then again, when you ran 7:13, that was your first week, and you probably did not have adequate training.
3) Anyway, I think that a more attainable goal for you would be 6:30... or possibly 6:15.
4) To the person who responded to this and said that you would be in the Olympics if you ran this: not necessarily. there are 13 year old girls who run 5:30. Also, things can change, and those girls might not improve much because they are growing at that age........

Honestly, a 7:13 is a very good time for a girl your age. And to reach 5:30 would be great... but very hard.
Im willing to bet you're probably one of the fastest girls at the mile in your grade.
(Your brother might have said its a bad time cause he's jealous, lol)

If you're a 7th grade girl and running a 5:30 mile, you would be on your way to the next Olympics. Tell you're brother to get lost and be proud. Your time is just fine.

7:13 is pretty dang good for a 7th grader. Way to go.
5:30 is a pretty fast goal. The fastest girls in high school are right around 5:00. Good luck in making your goals!

Wow 7:13 for a 7th grader!!!! That's very good!! Good job!
5:30 is fast, but if you work hard you can definitely get it! Don't worry if you can't, becuase you have 8,9,10,11,12 grades to do it.

And don't worry about what you get the first week of track.... that time is probably much slower than what you are capable of doing.... it takes time to get into shape!

Once you get in shape, you are going to be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck! i hope this helps!

Your brother would make a rotten coach. Thats a good time for your first time, and I am sure you will improve it in time, and possibly make your goal. Your brother is just being a poopy head to you.
