And why do atheists always single out Christians?

Pagans not only believe in one god, but they believe in many gods. Atheists don't call Pagans stupid for believing in many gods.

If atheists were sincere in believing in nothingness after this life, then they would just as hostile and bitter toward any religion the same as they treat Christianity in their hatred of if.

When atheists say "Separation of Church and State" they really mean freedom of religion for all EXCEPT Christians. They only complain about public displays of Christianity, but public displays of any other religion are OK with them.

Why can't they be honest and say that what they really want is separation of Christianity and State? In other words, no rights for Christians but freedom for everyone else.

I do not care what they say. I know my Lord. So I know the main thing in life.

I do not have to understand everything about Him to run some errands for Him. : )

Maybe they feel a conviction when dealing with Christians.

Just a few weeks ago the SF city government passed an ordinance that no amplified sound could happen before 10 AM on this ONE day that the Battle Cry Youth Event happened to be taking place in Giants park. The city council said they didn't want the Christians spewing they're intolerance. Did you get that? So how does trying to close down the rally show tolerance?

Off my soapbox for now.

Check out the link.

Christians are being persecuted right here.

Why do some Christians seek out atheists? Some Christians on here seem to address every question they have to atheists, or to insult atheists. Several of them are so obssessed with atheists, I think they must have a secret desire to become one.

Many Christians seem to believe that Pagans and satanists are the same thing. I've seem that kind of thinking on YA before.

If Christians were sincere in believing about an afterlife, they would just be happy to be going there and not worry about harrassing those who choose not to believe,.

When certain (not all) Christians say 'freedom of religion', they just want freedom for their religion. Some of them would like to see other religions outlawed or marginalized. Statements like "America should be a Christian Nation" abound.

Why can't some fundamentalists be honest and just say they want a theocracy?

Pot to kettle : black much?
Think about it.

You must be talking with atheists with a personal grudge against Christians. Atheists do call Pagans "stupid" for believing in many gods. The hostility towards Christians stems from the cultural dominance of Christianity in Western culture. There's not much hostility towards Pagans because most people have never even met one. But we've all had Christians who've told us that something or other that we do is a sin and that they'll "pray for us".

Irregardless of whether I believe what you believe (I don't), you have to maintain what you believe and not worry what people say about you or your deen (way of religious life). The "Whisperer" is running rampant and HATES the children of Adham. That is a fact. I believe everyone has a right to believe what they want (there's NO compulsion in religion), but they need to use their freedom of speech more responsibly. Don't take offense to this, but Christians seem to have a harder time speaking (witnessing) convincingly about their deen than Muslims. That may be why Christians get "picked on."

Keep your head up.

Not true, for me anyway.

I am aetheist. and I used to be a complete believer. I don't think ANYONE is stupid for believing in what they believe in. I just don't share the views with them. I think it is human nature to want to believe in something, some kind of God or supernatural power.

Separation of church and state ABSOLUTELY applies to ALL religions. The problem that I find with most Christians is that they don't want to allow for the expression of other religions. If you can display your cross, then every other religion as well should be able to display. So I say either all or nothing. Have religious expression for EVERYONE or NOBODY.

I find Christians, and not all of them, but some of the more louder ones to be so arrogant that they want the ten commandments or a cross displayed, but nothing Muslim, nothing Jewish, Buddhist etc...

I find it arrogant when Christians call Gay people trash.

This is rather whiney. Separation of church and state will always effect the majority religion the most, so what's your point?

Your main argument is not logical. Of course people will attack the largest target available. Christianity is the largest target.

Also, you say 'Christianity' but you mean, Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christianity. The largest denominations combined (UCC, United Methodists, United Presbyterians, etc.) have both Evangelical and non-Evangelical members.

Overwhelmingly, atheist & pagans are trying to defend themselves from chronically obnoxious Evangelicals and Fundamentalists, with a few ultra-conservative Catholics for good measure.

Mainstream Christians tend to be tolerant and to mind their business, so they don't often get attacked.

We think that not thinking for yourself is stupid. Pagans in general are not guilty of that. They also tend to be much nicer people.

The reason you draw our ire is you won't leave us alone and stay out of science class.

I have no problem with public displays, but Christians insist that they have the right to use my tax money to support it. I have equal issues with any other group that fits that category. The thing is I don't see it from other groups, and I see you guys complain when they want equal time.

Why do athiests always single out Christians...a good question.

My guess would be because the same one who has deceived them doesn't oppose religion, or good deeds, or kindness. He opposes the saving power of The Lord. Satan doesn't mind if you're a "good person" or even if you sing in the choir. He only gets worked up when people accept God's love and ask for His forgiveness. THAT is what the devil is trying to stop.

Well there IS that whole thing of what we hear from Christians, that could be it, huh?

It's not about number of gods, it's about respect for the personal space that beliefs are a part of. And Christians like to step on that space...

Besides...with Pagans and others there is a small kinship there, us all being minority groups having to live under the majority and all...

No pagan (or Buddhist, or Hindu, or Jainist et al) has ever told me that I am going to hell.

Nor are they trying to impose their beliefs in science classrooms.

Nor did they elect a president that invaded a country because God told him to.

Nor do they demonstrate at the funerals of servicemen.
