5 year-old with a funny request....?

Question

This might sound silly........I have a friend who is the mother of a 5 year boy old who is going through a funny phase. Very simply, he has been trying to get her, and even her women friends sit on his lap! She thought this was funny for a while, but she is getting tired of telling him "no", and trying to explain why it will not work. Is this strange? Has anyone ever heard of this before? She is wondering how to help him to get over it. Any ideas?
I have asked about this here for her before. Several suggestions have been to just do it. Although that would probably satisfy his curiosity, she is a little nervous about it. Wouldn't that be dangerous?
I know this seems ridiculous.

Let one sit one his lap. Not to squash him but with just enough pressure to see that adluts are heavy!

He probably thinks it is funny. The only way I can think of letting him know that it is inappropriate is to take him aside and let him know that you do not want him asking people to sit on his lap. That it could harm him as well as being inappropriate. If the mom ever hears him asking, she should gently say (in private) something like "We've talk about this, remember, you are not supposed to be asking that question. Do you remember why I told you not to ask that question?" If he doesn't give a satisfactory answer, repeat what you said before and let him go. Repeat until he obeys. The key here is consistancy. If you let him do it sometimes and others not, he will not get the message.

Idont know if this will work or not, ask your friend to just give this a try and see if it works,try the reward system,every time he DOESNT ask a female friend to sit on his lap,reward him with a small toy or a treat,get a notebook and the days that hes a good boy put a gold star in the book,the toy idea comes when you fill up the book with gold stars.I think the both of them will benifit from this.if possible let me know what happened. rubberstampr

that's a section. teenagers are so curious at 5. maximum individuals are too huge the two one way or the different to take a seat on a 5 365 days previous's lap. i assume kin could make a shaggy dog tale out of kinda sitting on his lap to assuage him, no longer take a seat each of ways down, in spite of the indisputable fact that, till they're somewhat small. probable might desire to do an identical with him as with the two and 3 365 days olds--diversion--like shall we decide for a stroll or bike journey or toss the ball or shoot some hoops, instead.

Kids absorb everything they see at home, on tv or even at school or day care, if he is daily witnesing an adult sitting on somebody else's lap then he will probably want to do it. If the mother thinks this is becoming a weird issue she should stoip making him think it is funny. If he thinks hes making people laugh by this he wil continue to do it.

Ignore his request of his mother to sit on his lap and demand him not to ask anymore. Eplain to him correctly and use the appropiate words to talk to a kid, first of all, she might not be explaining to her kid what is correct and what isnt. Lower Yourself to the groung until u are at the same height, and when u talk to a kid do not use negative sentences. Dont tell him what NOT to do, just tell him what to do. plain simple.

make a big woman sit on him...that'll make him stop asking around. he probably saw something on tv or thinks he's santa claus..
