My sister had a cockatiel years ago, that flew right out the back door. She put flyers out, and on a local information channel. About 2 weeks later she got a call that a man had seen a cockatiel in his tree, and lured it down and caught it.
Turns out it was her run away cockatiel, and that was in the month of February and it wasnt warm. So it very could be your cockatiel, I would try what someone already suggested put some food out and maybe you could try sitting its cage out on your front/back porch maybe it willfly right back in.
Good luck

Where I live there is a flock of wild parrots which comes around from time to time. They are a local legend. Some people say they are the remenents of when they used to film the Tarzan TV series at a nearby wilderness park other said they escaped from a bird breeder when his house caught fire. Either way this flock of yellowheaded parrots is alive and well and living in Los Angeles county.
As long as it doesn't get too cold and your cockatiel can find food water it'll survive.

Hi there. It depends. There have been miracle returns. Put his cage with treats and fresh water close to your house, near an open window with the light on even at night; (if this is safe) Do this for 10 days. Cage means home. By doing this, you know you did everything you could. We all learn from our mistakes, consider wing clipping so that the bird can glide safely down if he falls and even to return on command. Birds are more intelligent than once believed. Don't give up just yet. Have an abundant year.

OK OK OK..
I have a cockatiel he has been out 2 times. But whenever he flys away he never flys far so fortunately we always catch him.It is highly possible that your bird can still be alive(but that can depend on how old he is)If he is trained and tamed he shouldn't have flown far try looking around for him walking the streets, calling his name, putting up flyers and try putting some of his favorite food out in containers around your yard its all worth a try.You are probably hearing him because i know when my bird got out he would always screech and that's how we new he was alive.
hope this helps and good luck.

It probably is him, expecially if that type of bird isn't found in that area. Or it could be a bird that mimmicks sounds they've heard, but usually those jsut repeat the sounds back to the rela thing. I hope you find him. Maybe try putting food out on the window ledge for him. :) i hope you find him.

There is always a chance..Put his cage outside in the area you hear him, be sure there is food and water in it. Try this for as long as it takes to know for sure.

You should contact 911parrotalert and report your lost bird. There are "found" birds posted there, too, and someone may have already found him.
