I'd like to agree with you but the reality is that regardless of what you see in the movies you have no idea if a bullet is speeding towards you until it hits something.
You might get a "screw you god" if the something is a non-vital part of you but I suspect that most christians would become even more entrenched in the "save me god" mode.
If anything, it's the senselessness of seeing other people killed and killing other people that can drive people from god.

Are you saying christians should not be scared of being shot? That really make no sense to me. I am a christian, and I do believe in heaven, but I realy don't want to get shot, so I think if a bullet was coming my way, I would be scared, anyone would be.

I think you have it backwards. A foxhole conversion is a nonbeliever who prays and "converts" when they feel the end is near. When the situation is out of their hands and they feel hopeless. I don't think it's when a christian gives up his beliefs.
