When you look at a stick of butter or margarine, you see what is in your blood vessels if you eat too much saturated fat. The stuff builds plaque inside of your blood vessels. You can take aspirin every day and eat foods like olive oils and oatmeal that actually "clean out" the plaque in your vessels. I small amount isn't going to kill you. If you're worried, go see your doc and have your blood checked. I think you're pretty smart myself. Most people don't even think about what kind of garbage they are putting inside of their bodies. Good question! Godloveya. (moderation in all things)

technically it is not the fat that is bad but the LDL cholesterol that is associated with saturated fats. offset the saturated fat intake with monounsaturated fats that are high in HDL cholesterol and the problem is solved.

It is in just about everything, but you don't have to totally give it up, just limit it. Also, eat healthy stuff to balance it out.
