I have been trying to find a really good exfoliator for the past few months, and my mom suggested that I look online for a recipe so I don't go out and spend 20 dollars on a jar of sugar and water. Does anyone know any good recipes?

Very cheap, very easy

1 tsp lemon juice
1 cup sugar

You can't imagine how great it feels and what it will do to your skin. If you try it, let me know how it worked for you.

Brown sugar with honey, left your skin like brand new and you smell nice also. Don't buy those stuff that you already have in your kitchen. To pay for a jar 20 dlls., having the sugar and the honey at home!! Good luck and enjoy it!!

If you don't want to splurge on yourself (Arbonne makes the best sea salt shower scrub)

I'd take some kosher salt and olive oil and see how it works for you. You could get sea salt too -

I love the brand I have been using. I leave the shower with a hint of citrus. I also get it's no fun to spend money on things sometimes -

Hope this helps.

I remember reading in Paula Beguon's book "Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me" that Cetaphil liquid cleanser mixed with a little bit of baking soda can make for a gentle (and please don't rub too hard on the skin) scrub as opposed to buying the pre-made such as st. ives apricot or such. I use Cetaphil liquid cleanser on my face (by itself) every day, and it has never (knock wood ;) irritated my skin just fyi.
