Is this color red a color you are going to get tired of soon? With the dark maple I think tan would be better. But with the isnald and appliances I think red would be better.

Try doing an accent wall with just the red and paint the rest of the walls tan. OR you can paint the walls tan and do red accents with your accessories, small counter-top appliances, etc. I have a red, white & blue kitchen and thought about painting the walls red too, but red is really not a good color for a "food room" - it tends to have a negative pyschological effect. Instead, I used lots of red accents and decorations. Also, consider the size of your kitchen and whether or not a dark color like red will visually "shrink" the room. With the dark cabinets, it probably would. Good luck!

Depending on what red you pick it will take multiple coats to cover keep this in mind. I just did my sons in a Benjamin Moore color called "Coral Bronze" and its in the red family, sweet color. Another color you could check out is called "Oklahoma Wheat" which is in your tans and would look sweet against your cabinets , as everyone says it's what you like not us so be "BOLD" and add color to your world it's only paint and can be changed rather easy. Good luck Les the painter

Red, red, red!!! Go with the color! Even with a dark color like that, you could still paint over it in a few years if you tire of the color. Red is the perfect kitchen color.
Red is spicy.
Red is hot.
Red is saucy.
Red is perfect. Have a blast.

I think the whole red thing has been over done. I'm tired of seeing it. There is a nice color by Devine paint called Dust. It is a tannish color, with a hint of red. It looks great with other Tuscan colors.

Red can give a warm feeling to a room not always the best for a kitchen unless you live waaaaay up north. Why not a multi-hued faux finish or better yet a faux finish wallpaper. The new papers are easy to apply and easy to strip, not to mention their exceptional durability. My kitchen paper has been up 15 years and if I weren't getting tired of it it could stay up longer. It has superior cleaning qualities compared to most types of paint.

If you think the color red is perfect then go for it. It's only paint so the worst that can happen is you have to repaint it. I did my den with a dark red and I love it.
