It's the Vietnam of the millennium. I don't think we can win this. There will always be suicide bombers that are going to try to take out their new government.
It leaves me wondering if someone is going to pull a Lee H Oswald on Bush. seeing as how he is going to override this new bill.

I think that is BS....
"Of those 72 percent...how many are thinking for themselves and not their country?" I think this guy here hit it right on the head-- of course soldiers want to get out of Iraq. They want to go home to their families and their normal life.
And did anyone else notice the huge difference in responses from those in the National Guard and the Reserves and active duty Marines? To me, that goes right along with my last statement (that they are just thinking about going home).. Guard and Reserves (in general, I'm not talking about everyone) are people who join the military because they want the benefits and the stability... most never believe that they will see combat. I feel active duty is more prepared and more "willing" to ber here (of course, it's not a matter of will, but I think we can see the big picture and see that our personal needs/wants are very insignificant compared to the needs of our nation).
Believe me, I never thought I would be one to talk like this... when I joined 8 years ago and they were telling me about the Core Value of "Service Before Self" (putting needs of the Air Force/nation ahead of your own), it meant nothing to me. I guess I was really only concerned about myself. I have changed SO much since I've been in Iraq and I feel so differently about the military and what's going on over here.
To sum it up, I completely disagree with the poll you posted... there is no way to get an accurate figure unless you poll all of us. 900-something troops? That is not even worth doing a poll in my opinion. I support our presence here 100% and I am proud to do my part.

Of those 72 percent...how many are thinking for themselves and not their country. I'm telling you that the only solution to this is stay and fight. If you want to use statistics then here's one....more than 60 percent of Iraqis that were polled said there was NO civil war. The people of that country would know more than anybody.
This isn't Vietnam. With Vietnam, we pulled out and nothing else happened to US but to the people in Vietnam it was a different story. Leaving Iraq would not attain the same outcome. An 'immediate' pullout is the worst option. Most of our idiotic congress can see that...

Polls can go either way, depending on who is conducting and who participates. All the returning vets I know, and I know a lot, can not wait to go back. I guess that means ALL soldiers support the war?

each physique bear in mind Bush telling us many times that this replaced into going to be an fairly, very, very long and not straightforward conflict to combat? Our troops (inclusive of my husband, thank you very plenty) are interior the militia voluntarily. and a large style of, (additionally inclusive of my husband, thank you very plenty) have VOLUNTEERED to flow to Iraq because of the fact they see how substantial that is that we combat this conflict and WIN IT! that is taken 4 years because of the fact the dramatic push to Baghdad, and is probable to take a minimum of that many extra till now that is resolved. yet I easily have a answer for those of you who so fervently disapprove of the conflict. How approximately this... If our president and a goodly element of congress is keen to pursue this conflict to victory, and (inspite of what the liberal-controlled media needs you to have faith) maximum human beings of human beings DO prefer us to WIN this conflict, and our troops are battling the solid combat, YOU whiners have permission to stay abode and proceed to artwork and play as though there is no conflict happening! you do not might desire to sacrifice something or artwork any harder... ALL you will possibly desire to do is end DEMEANING our u . s . and taking part in footsie with the damn enemy! while the chief of Iran (thoroughly insane dictator who's actually bent on international domination and our finished destruction) feels like the Dems, i think of that is a concern... while Osama bin encumbered is encouraging human beings to vote for the Dems, i think of that is a concern too... while Al Queda messages examine like Democratic speaking factors, i think of that is yet yet another concern... that's quite like the Jeff Foxworthy instruct from HELL! awaken human beings--in case you won't be able to help the conflict and our troops, a minimum of flow away them (and us) on my own so they might do their jobs and make united states of america and the international risk-free for whiners such as you!

Sir I understand you are reading polls and are appauled at what you see but we have all learned polls arent worth much. Personally I can tell yuo that most of the soldiers are behind the war effort, I would say at least 75%, my brother also thinks so and we are both in the army, my recruiters think so, my other friends in teh armed forces, both navy and marines all think the same. The simple fact is that they believe in it, quit trying to sqaush their belief, it may work on the american people but not on the American G.I.

My experience (direct contact with the troops on a daily basis) is that about 90% of them think that we are doing the right thing.
However a very small percentage feel that they will be allowed to win.

I am just going to assume your link is to a poll, so I won't even waste time on it because it would mean nothing.
