Ok, my friend Ben is always joking around with me and always finds a way to touch me and hug me and all that stuff. also the other day we got on a discussion of prom and i said that i would go and he said that he'd go if i went, also one day he asked me if i had a boyfriend and i told him no then he said that he had his eye on a girl he wanted to ask out, but he wouldn't tell me who. now he's acting like he's gay, saying he likes all these guys and stuff, so im wondering what all this means, cause i just think he's messing with me, but what do you think, do you think thats it and that he's just hiding his feelings for me or what.

He might be trying to see who he can shock and who will pay more attention to him if he talks about liking boys, etc. It sure is a big attention-getter. He might extremely afraid of being rejected by a girl and it's safe to say he likes guys; at least that takes him 'off the market', so to speak and takes the attention away from the fact that so far, he has not succeeded in having a girlfriend. Some guys will just go for an average girl for a first girlfriend and try to learn to roll with the punches, realizing that rejection is part of dating and you just have to get back in the game. Others can go all the way through high school wihout really having a girlfriend because they are shy, insecure, nerdy, afraid of being hurt, self-conscious - you name it.
I'd wait and see. You could always just tell him you'd still like to go to the prom with him and for sure be his friend. Try to guess if he really is that insecure and try to assure him if he is.
I married a guy who I don't think ever had a girlfriend in high school. Nerdy. They get older and grow better looking!

If he is always trying to hug you and touch you then it means that he is in to you. He's only acting gay, and not telling you who he likes because he doesn't won't you to know that he likes you- at least not yet. My ex did the same thing, but it didn't last, and it hurt our friendship, so make sure that you feel the same way about each other before you take it to the next level.

That's a tough one...I think him playing with you and asking u if you have a boyfriend and stuff was definitely a sign. Does he talk to you about other girls? If not then he probably likes u. But if he's talking about boys too, then he might not be sure about his sexuality...hard to tell. I would suggest flirting with him more (ie. say what you really want to say in a joking way) ie. It would be really cool if you liked me, because I think you're cute. Then if he likes u, he'll more than likely take a hint and get serious, or joke back in the same way, and you just continue to "joke" but actually say what you feel. But, if he is embarassed and avoids the topic, still joke but pretend you weren't serious, and make something up (another boy you like or whatever) or if he changes the joke to something else, go with the flow of that conversation also.
It has been my experience that if a guy really wants u, he'll let you know...so if he hasn't really made you feel like he likes you (wanting to be with you, calling you just to talk to you, etc.) then continue to hang out and be his friend but don't be too available. It sounds like he definitely wants to take you to the prom, so ask him to be your date. Play it cool. The person he loves in not anxious and emotional, but the great person you are. He also might be afraid to ruin the friendship...so just chill.

I think he likes you and just doesn't know how to go about asking you out. If you like him back, try being more responsive when he flirts with you.
