well i am at the moment in the transitioning period and it used to be hell there were somany times where i felt like cutting my hair to the regrowth or just going back to relaxing it.....luckily i found products on naturallycurlly.com to help with hair styles i use curls milkshake....this is brilliant is loosens the curl to make it managable....u can use the kiddies version to save money if this is an issue......i currently have my hair how i would on a normal day if i wear it in a ponytail and just add some curls whipped cream or souffle depending on the texture of the hair....i would even try the curls curl ecstasy asian hair tea conditioner as this can be used as a leave in as welll as a treatment.....you shoud take a look the products are really good... u might even want to try blended beauty if your hair is all natural. good luck with ur hair i hope i was of some help:)

I'm not a teen but I did attempt to wear my hair natural once upon a time! My biggest issue was finding a suitable hair style while having approx. 7 inches of relaxed hair and 1 or 2 inches of new growth. My hair looked horrible! I couldn't afford to keep paying someone to braid my hair every week so I ended up getting another relaxer. My advice to you is make sure that you know someone who can keep your hair looking nice while making the transition from relaxed to natural. Good luck!

Hi I hope all is well. I am actually not African American but I am from the Dominican Republic so I still have that hair, lol. But I do wear it natural; it’s actually short like the picture. It’s hard to take care of it because treatments are soo expensive. My hair is often more frizzy then curly when I don’t use jam or gel. How do you feel about jam for your hair??? Have a wonderful day.
