I had stayed in Southern California for almost 2 months. The same time last year we went to the theme parks: Here is our schedule:
March 24: from San Diego to Glendale
via Greyhound
: dinner at the Groove
this is a nice mall with a trolley
going round the outside of the mall
for the shoppers to see the facade
of the mall
March 25: to Hollywood, better to see at night
March 26: Knotts Berry Farm
lunch just across at Asian Buffet
dont miss this, it is great food!
March 27: Disneyland
March 28: California Adventure
going to San Diego
March 29; San Diego Zoo
March 30: Sea World
I had tried going from San Diego to LA via the Amtrak. It was fun travelling via Greyhound and Amtrak ( more expensive but more clean, its like an airplane seeing the views).
I had also been to Universal Studios and Simi Valley on another weekend in April.
The traffic is terrific because at this time some schools are on spring breaks and weekend traffic is really BAD.
San Diego:
Try riding the trolleys. It will make you better appreciate the whole of San Diego which is widespread. I bought 2 maps before going there and a 3rd when I was there.
Yahoo travel will help you well! Go to guides, then go to the cities you want to explore like San Diego or LA. You will see the suggested top 10 attractions with their locations and websites. There is also a slideshow of the place.
It is helpful to plan ahead of time. It saves money and effort. Make a schedule so that you can make the most out of your trip.

Most of my friends and I like to get outdoors after a long work week. We love to hike up in the canyons..either Pacific Palisades or Malibu. Some of my friends live near Griffith Park and hike around there.
Some really great areas are Temescal Canyon in the Palisades and Tuna Canyon in Malibu. You can mountain bike in Malibu Creek State Park..it's great there..a really big park!

Well it depends. What part of So Cal, and what do you like to do? In San Diego, you can alway go to Coronado, PB, and enjoy the beach. You can go to Mexico and have lots of fun. : ) You' re close to the desert. You're in a great location, just drive around and you'll find things to do.
