Watch television for just a few minutes and you will find an amazing bent towards orange and blue which of course are complements on the color wheel. I also once read an article in a decorating magazine that said if you look at a flower garden you will see that so MANY colors just naturally go together - like a bunch of zinnias - bright pink, orange, gold, olive green, emerald, cream and red. There is a graphic artist guide book called "Color Index" that has hundreds of "triads" of colors that go together.

I like almost any two colors that are opposite from each other on the color wheel along with an analogous color. For example, purple and yellow are opposites, along with blue which is next to purple, or orange which is next to yellow.

In my personal opinion, I think that red, black and yellow go good together, but then again, that's just my opinion.

I think most shades of purple, blue, and grey go together. So do most shades of red, orange, and yellow.
