Thank you.

Sweetheart, you need to ignore every piece of advice given to you in this forum and do some research on www.bmezine.com, or a similar website.

Piercing parlours will always have your best interests in mind, the certified piercers can offer you much better advice than we can and help you understand the risks of taking care of a piercing. They will tell you how to clean your piercing with warm salt water and answer any questions you may have.

Piercing by a 'trained' Claires employee is nothing short of dangerous, as the nature of the guns means they cannot be sterilised against Hep C, HIV and any other bloodborne nasties that the person before you may have had. The spring loaded earring is forced through with blunt trauma, which hurts a lot more than a simple needles piercing, which hurts less than a shot.

Ask the BME QOD (see below) on reputable piercers in your area or check your yellow pages.

Good luck and take care :)

Make sure you go to a reputable source, especially those who follow proper and strict sanitary guidelines.

It shouldn't hurt too much, but for me it did for some reason. It depends on your personal threshold of pain.

Also, be careful with what they pierce you with. For example, I myself had my ears pierced once with sergical steel, and it turned out I was allergic to it and developed an infection. Therefore, I wear only jewlery that is at least 14 K white gold, 18K pure gold, or pure sterling silver (the higher Karat, the better).

If you don't have any known allergies, then you should be fine. If you do to a certain metal, then let the person in charge of piercing you know in advance so they can help you pick a starter set of earrings that won't react with your body. If you are unsure if you are allergic to a certain metal, now would be a good time to go talk to a dermatologist.

Finally, follow all post care instructions your piercer tells you so that you won't have any complications after the piercing.

Best of luck. ^_^

You should read the link below.

Ear lobe piercings are next to painless, though are a lot less painless when done in a piercing/tattoo shop. They're a GREAT first piercing. They'll be tender for a little while, but nothing too unbearable. =)
You'll want to keep them clean with antibacterial soap and sea-salt soaks, don't bother with alcohol or peroxide, it just slows the healing.
If you actually goto a professional piercer he/she will be able to supply you detailed aftercare instructions, as well as help should something happen with your new piercings.
(Plus a tattoo/piercing shop will give you GOOD jewelry that won't snag on things like the stupid studs places like Claire's do... I had many lobe piercings rip out because of those darn studs!)

Good luck with them. =)

What ever you do, don't get them done by a gun. Go to a pro and have them pierced by a needle. Guns can not be sterilized and will cause more tissue damage than a needle (which means longer healing times and more chances of scarring)

Make sure you have something to eat about an hour before you go, it will help stop you from getting light headed. Don't take any painkillers or similar meds before hand (unless you have daily meds perscribed by your doctor) Tell your piercer if you're on any medication. Make sure you go sober.

Make sure you ask your piercer every question you have, even if you think it's a silly one. Make sure they answer it to your satisfaction and that you understand the answer. Make sure you read the aftercare sheet and understand it.

Afterwards, soak them twice daily in sea salt solution. Don't touch them other than with washed hands when you're cleaning them.

Make sure you get good quality jewelry, either surgical steel or titanium. (most other materials, including gold and white gold, have nickel in them, which many people are allergic to)

Most importantly, relax and try to have fun. Bring a friend for support. Good Luck!

Best advice around:

Don't have piercings done with a piercing gun or by anyone who says that the gun is safe to use.

You need to have this and all piercings done by a professional piercer, as scary as that notion may seem. Most work in tattoo parlors, but here are some who have studios just for piercings.

http://www.safepiercing.org is a great resource. I suggest you check it out and find a reputable piercer. Your ears will thank you.

Everyone always makes it seem worse than it is. It's a quick, sharp pain but it's over in, literally, an instant. Always be sure to get them pierced by someone you trust and who makes you feel comfortable. If they don't seem professional or kind, I wouldn't bother. Just in case, I would hold someone's hand or have your jacket or something in your hand to squeeze in case you happen to be very sensitive to pain. I had a scarf handy for when I got mine pierced, but I ended up not even squeezing it in pain because it was over before I knew it. The first night you have them, sleeping is awkward because you feel like the backs are poking into you (even though they aren't). So try sleeping on your back or on your stomach. Good luck! :]

ok properly, im unsure concerning to the backside of the lobe, because of the fact i had the backside of my ear lobes pierced while i replaced into under a 300 and sixty 5 days previous. i do undergo in recommendations getting my 2nd lobe piercings although, yet i couldnt relatively value the soreness for you on account that i even have cartilage piercings and stretched lobes. it relies upon on your soreness tolerance point. the soreness lasts a on an identical time as and the piercing will heal in approximately 5 weeks. your ears would be very sensetive and that i wouldnt propose letting telephones, headphones, the ipod type earphones, or snoozing on the edge of your head. additionally be helpful to maintain your hair off them. clean them and twist them every day to boot. in case you dont clean then, quite while they are nevertheless healing, you will possibly get an infection. there'll continuously be of challenge for an infection although and determine you get silver ot gold rings, not something low priced, which will additionally help them heal swifter and supply u much less hazard for an infection to happen. this exceeded off to me purely the different day, on of me my 2nd lobe piercings that ive had for a protracted time have been given contaminated, i had metallic studs with a 0.5 circle front, so it replaced into like a flat floor on the piercing. be certain you dont permit your piercings get to tight (the backing on the earring) because of the fact that is going to deffinitly harm on account that its squeezing it, and it wont be waiting to be twisted, that is going to worsen your ear plenty extra and reason a large style of soreness and probably swelling. in case you do have a large style of soreness once you get your piercings, then wait a on an identical time as then attempt putting ice around the piercing yet under no circumstances too close or touching it. that is going to cool your ear down (on account that once you get new piercings your ear will sense very heat to touch and in soreness) and it will numb the soreness. i does not reccomend doing this oftentimes although, purely once you're in a large style of soreness. properly i wish thats helped you, and solid luck =]

I've had mine pierced let them close and had them pierced again last summer. I find that you need to clean them every day and avoid touching them. If you have a sensitive stomch i'd suggest that you get a cold drink for after incase you start feeling dizzy. I was THIS close in passing out the second time i got mine pierced. Good luck! After they heal it is certainly a great addition to your attire :)

It only hurts for a split second then it's over and you look cute. Make sure you do a good job of keeping them clean after you get them they can get infected easily especially if you go to the mall to get them done rather than a piercing studio.

It will sting a little right afterwards and feel hot. But it doesnt hurt. Its just a hard pinch. Do be careful about where you go. They should not use a gun because they do not sterelize the gun just the needle. However you will most likely get an infection if they use the gun. Go to a professional and not the mall.
