Wouldn't it be better for the troops if they were allowed to come home?

Yes, the best way to support the troops is to bring them all home. For those who say we have to stay until we win, I ask, What is a victory? If you tell me it's when the Iraqis can stand on their own then yur basically telling all of us that we may have to stay there another 10 years. Unless you are ready to go over and fight, and probably be maimed for life or killed, you are being totally ridiculous. It's not the mission of the United States to build up another nation. The mission is to protect the United States.

As a veteran I feel that supporting our troops is giving them the means to win. Also supporting them is not undermining their sacrifice and showing a strong will for success. Supporting the troops is an understanding that they are not so selfish as to want for their own safety ahead of the nation's safety. We chose to serve, and we and our families realize the danger of losing this war.
Support the troops? Congress doesn't even understand us!

ADD:
Roger: It was not the mission in Operation Desert Storm to remove Saddam. The mission was to force a withdrawal from Kuwait. That was accomplished, Kuwait was secured.

Pop: You don;t have the slightest clue and cannot speak for the troops in Iraq. Please do not attempt. Ignorance is not welcome. There is actually a very low chance of being killed or maimed based on statistics. Quit watching so much tragedy TV and trying to over dramatize the truth.

No you fool, if we had withdrawn in WWI and all came home for a drink, we would all be speaking german. If we had just let the troops come home in WWII we would all be speaking Japanese. If George Washington had brought his troops back home we would all be Birtish, WHY AND ON WHAT BASIS DO YOU THINK IF WE BRING THESE TROOPS HOME THAT WE WONT BE SPEAKING ARABIC.

Confort is not an option here, we need to finish this, we cannot just pull out because it would be cooler if our troops didnt have to fight! They signed up you fool, let them do their job. I just enlisted myself, and the last thing I want is you democrats stopping us from defeating this evil.

"Why does Bush say the Congress isn't supporting our troops?"

Because they dont want to pay for them to have food and armor and other necessities, and they dont want us to be fighting this war that we're already in. Its a coluntary military, let the troops and the commander in chief decide.

Yeah....well since they can't and congress can't change that you need to realize the obvious. If they cut funding, which is all they are able to do, the troops stay there with less supplies (bullets, gear, even MRE's) and that is NOT supporting the troops, literally. So this idea that they cut funding and the freakin public has a ticker tape parade....yeah sure.

Yes. Better for the troops.
BUT...we are over there to help them control their own country.
Bush Sr didn't finish the job and pulled out early. They hated us because bad people took over. Now, we had to go back to fix things AGAIN. If we leave now, the Al Qaeda will take over and we'll only have to go back later.

Because the Democrats do not support the troops.

How can you claim to support people you refuse to listen to?
