Just to make sure, open the hood and look at the "Emissions Control" sticker above the radiator.

It will tell you. (bottom of the sticker)

Mr. know it all is correct.. the label (if still on the vehicle) will tell the proper gap as it left the factory and is the one I go by as sometimes the gap set at the factory (due to the calibration) is set different than it is listed in the book.

According to motorcraft (who builds the factory plugs for Ford)
the 4.9 I-6 is gapped at .044
The 5.0 is listed as gapped at .054
The 5.8 is listed as gapped at .044

Plugs come with the correct gap, just make sure none have been dropped and bent closed

i believe its .044. usually the plug gap will be located under the hood on a white sticker called the catalyst. hope this helps

you didnt say which motor you have but go to advanceautoparts.com to find the gap
