I had the priviledge of growing up in a Christian home, but when I was old enough to decide for myself whether I would continue to follow Christ or not, I chose to cling to my Savior rather than turn Him away.

I gave the god of Abraham a good solid 26 years of chances before I began looking elsewhere. And I didn't blow him off because he failed me. I walked away because I don't agree with the hypocricy of his book, the idea that there's only one possible way in this infinite Universe of ours to find your spiritual truth or connect with divinity, and in particular the way his book views women. I also walked away because the idea of the father, the son and the holy spirit left me - as a woman - very empty spiritually. Quite frankly, it amazes me the number of women (including my mother and aunt, whom I love dearly) that are devout followers of Christ, when Christianity (and particularly many branches of Protestantism) ignores the divinity of woman completely.

So I didn't leave YOUR God for MY God and Goddess without giving him a chance. I just needed a Divine mother as well as a Divine father.

I gave it a chance. I even thought well maybe not the Christian god, so I studied other religions, and then I thought what about an actual loving god no religion. And In the end I didn't see the point in believing in something without proof. The only god worthy of worship/praise wouldn't care if you believe in it or not.

Was Catholic until about age 11, then reality intervened.
I was immune to the brainwashing, and became an atheist.
Same thing with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, you grow up and realize that it is all ficticious, and pretty silly.

I had never heard of God and by the time I did found the idea unbelieveable.
