I have very light blonde hair. Every Summer it turns green from my swimming pool. How do I prevent it, or get rid of it without using a swimming cap?

Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 and any kind of clarifying will prevent the green. (These shampos get rid of the chlorine and mineral deposits people also get from well water) If you have colored hair it needs to be one that is safe for colored hair. It should read so on the label. (A clarifying is good for once a week use anyway to get rid of the buildup from your other shampoo's, styling product's and even conditioner)

A clarifying need not be used everyday unless deemed safe otherwise it will just dry out your hair.

You need to wet your hair prior to getting in the pool and apply a leave in conditioner. This blocks out the chlorine from getting into your hair. When hair is dry it soaks up chlorine like a sponge and then gets baked in by the sun. If you already have wet hair and conditioner in it the chlorine cant get in.

Immediately following getting out of the pool. You should wash your hair and apply a conditioner.

I hope this helps!!

thats because of the pools chlorine you should get your pools chlorine levels checked and a better shampoo dont worry this happens to many blonds/light blonds in the summer who dont have a good shampoo/ the chlorine levels are bad

shower after you get out of the pool ever time with a good shampoo read the labels on them when you buy them that will say witch one you need or ask you hair stylist/hair dresser

Salons and John Frieda (available at Walmart, etc) make products that will remove the chemical from your hair and bring it back to it's natural blonde. You just have to use it after each swim to keep the green out.

tzstylin is 1/2 right.

get it wet first.
after you get your hair in the pool make sure you rinse it out BEFORE it dries in the sun. then apply a leave in conditioner.

get a spray bottle and add a few tablespoons of conditioner and the rest water. shake it and use it as a leave in conditioner. it works well for your skin, too.

get your hair wet with regular water first. or a spray in conditioner.

as long as the hair is already wet when you get in the chemicals won't be as attracted to it. chlorine likes dry hair. so does bromine.
