You are going to realize that people who follow the Bible only follow the PARTS they WANT to follow. For example you do not see Christians persecuting people for believing that the Earth rotates the sun (like they used to), and you don't see them telling people not to wear clothing made of more than one fabric or trim their side burns (Leviticus), but you DO see them doing things like condemning homosexuals and women who have abortions...why? Because they do not PERSONALLY like those things.
People only take the things from the Bible they want...plain and simple.

Hi I hope all is well.
(Matthew 7:21) Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
This verse is talking to those that are not believers, or a person that maybe just calls on God when they “need something”. So Jesus tells these people that they will not get into Heaven like this but it is those who have a relationship with God and know Him and do His will that will get into Heaven, because they want to live for Him, which is the best life ever. He can make a Heaven for people here on Earth, for those who believe. Have a bleszed day.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”(John 14:6)

As everywhere else throughout the Scripture your works (though important to manifest faith) are of no value when offered to God in place of faith. A Christian comes to God empty handed without any reason save His trust that God will keep His promises. He will claim the works of Christ on his behalf as his only passport to salvation. Those that stand before God and say "Look at everything we did for you God, We were so good, not like those losers over there that relay only on you to save them, we did it all on our own, Aren't we swell?" Can't you see the same thread of truth here in this passage as when Moses was commanded to talk to the rock and receive water FAITH.. He didn't do it right either and it cost him his place in the promised land.. Faith is what God requires, He can see the heart and tell the difference between those that say they believe and those who do. I would welcome you into the Kingdom as a brother. Christ will greet you as your Father, turn your way change you mind, reach out to Him and He will give you the gift of Life.. Jim

Ok, for those people who don't have the Holy Spirit, to RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF GOD, this passage refers to those people who call themselves Christians who are really false witnesses. So all these people out here who say, "Lord, Lord," but aren't living according to the "will of the Father" will not enter into the kindom of God.
See, we look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. He doesn't care about if you're lifting up your hands to praise Him, if your lifestyle doesn't show that you are a follower of Him, then He will be like, "Get away from me, I never knew you." And it will be a sad day for those people.
It's pretty self explanatory, don't just read that one verse, read the ones above and below it too.

Matt 7:21 " 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."
because following Jesus requires you to devote your entire life to him. Merely believing that he is God just doesn't cut it. Even demons believe that there is a God. What is necessary is actions that display faith. Without deeds, according to James 2:26, faith is dead.
You're right, some people may not like to change their lives in order to come to a right relationship with God. But God does not force anyone to believe in him...and that is why God is so loving.

7:21 Christ next warns against people who falsely profess to acknowledge Him as Savior, but have never been converted. Not everyone who calls Jesus, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who do the will of God enter the kingdom. The first step in doing the will of God is to believe on the Lord Jesus (Joh_6:29).
7:22, 23 On judgment day when unbelievers stand before Christ (Rev_20:11-15), many will remind Him that they prophesied, or cast out demons, or performed many wonders—all in His name. But their protestation will be in vain. Jesus will declare to them that He never knew them or acknowledged them as His own.
From these verses we learn that not all miracles are of divine origin and that not all miracle workers are divinely accredited. A miracle simply means that a supernatural power is at work. That power may be divine or satanic. Satan may empower his workers to cast out demons temporarily, in order to create the illusion that the miracle is divine. He is not dividing his kingdom against itself in such a case, but is plotting an even worse invasion of demons in the future.

It doesn't say Jesus isn't the way to heaven. It says that not everyone who claims to be a Christian will go to heaven....because they never really accepted Jesus as their Savior. It was all for show, they weren't truly His followers.

That's what the church teaches. The church teaches a lot that isn't in the bible.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Jesus is not saying different, because in the Book of John, he says "I am the way, the truth and the life." "No man comes unto the Father but by me." In Matthew 7, he is referring to "phony Christians", people who profess to know him (calling him "Lord, Lord") but have not really accepted him as their personal savior, like for instance, cult leaders and televangelists who pretend to do miracles, etc., to get money, or people who attend church but do not live the life of a Christian.

You are getting into the faith versus works argument.
The bible has thousands of passages which can be cherry-picked to justify just about anything. Of course, this assumes you want to justify using the bible. It's so much better to use reason and common sense to justify or not justify things. On this basis, since you can't justify god or heaven it doesn't really make much of a difference.
