I just finished a fabulous book last night entitled The Tide is Turning Toward Catholicism" by David J. Hartline; copyright 2006. The book says it all. The liberal mainline curches are losing members....the Methodist church alone loses 1,000 members/month. Evangelical churches are forming alliances with the Catholic Church in terms of moral issues....even Jerry Falwell works well with us Catholics in this area. In fact, many Evangelical and other groups who had endorsed abortion and birth control until the Catholic Church held strong on both of these as morally wrong like Dr. R. Albert Mohler (President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in KY), Chuck Colson and others now find perfect harmony with the Church on these issues as well as on the death penalty (it's wrong....Jesus waits patiently for us to repent of our sins...we should wait for criminals to do the same); artificial baby-making and cloning to name a few.

When Pope John Paul II died, the media-mongers and cynics were absolutely confounded and speechless (for a change) as to why this man would be able to draw nearly 7 MILLION into Rome for his wake/funeral.....more than 5 MILLION of them youth. Now they cluster more and more around Pope Benedict XVI. They desperately want a church that "says what it means and means what it says".
Slow but sure....many hundreds of thousands are coming home to Christ's Church. Praise God!
'Nough said.

As a theology teacher at a Catholic high school, it is very clear to me that one of the biggest problems facing the Church is poor catechesis. Many people, especially children, don't really understand their own faith very well. We need good, qualified, committed people to help educate others in the faith. Undoubtedly, your local parish needs good CCD teachers. Maybe, you could sign up to help out. Good Catholic reading is also a must, in my opinion. Pick up The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton or The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis. Keep up with what's happening in the Church. (For instance, Pope Benedict just issued a new apostolic exhortation on the Eucharist. It's available at vatican.net.)

I don't know about helping, but the church, or clergy rather, is dying because not very many people are interested in being a priest or whatever anymore. It used to be a job for noblemen/women that had too many sibling ahead of them to get much of an inheritance, but that doesn't really exist anymore.

First, the bread isn't within the style of crackers, however are referred to as hosts. The "apartment watching factor" is referred to as a tabernacle. "what's the lengthy prayer that each person says throughout mass that each person is aware of the phrases to? is that the sinners prayer?" There are many prayers that each person says in combination. If it's on the commencing of the Mass and speaks approximately sins, it's traditionally the Confeitor. i realized there have been two services. The first one was once simply envelopes or portions of paper and the second was once certainly cash. was once the primary one prayer requests? at the crucifixx there was once a banner that mentioned INRI. what does that imply? " I spotted there have been two services. The first one was once simply envelopes or portions of paper and the second was once certainly cash. was once the primary one prayer requests?" Sometimes there's a moment assortment for a specific undertaking. I think that final weekend was once a specific assortment for Peter's Pence - a set to help the charitiable initiatives of the Vatican. "at the crucifixx there was once a banner that mentioned INRI. what does that imply?" INRI is an acronym for Iesus Nazorean Rex Iudea - that's latin for Jesus of Nazoreth, King of the Jews - that is the "crime" that Jesus was once charged with. castrate all priests or cut off the hand of pedophiles. so we can save $$$$$$$$$ and spend it on more needy causes instead of settling out of court for sexual violations.
