No, The oil is not sitting in big pools of liquid, it is inside porous rock formations. Think of the formation as a sponge full of water. Once you have taken the water out of the sponge, it still holds its shape.

The ground above oil fields will subside somewhat unless water is pumped into the oil wells to replace the oil. This can cause very low-level earthquakes. It has nothing to do with global warming.

Oil comes from layers of rock. Taking the oil out doesn't cause any earthquakes. Earthquakes at oil drill sites are caused by things they pump into the ground to increase the yield of oil such as water. The pumping into the rock layer can cause quakes by increasing pressure at, and lubricating, fault lines. If you have a wet rock and dry the water out it won't collapse...sucking the oil out doesn't do anything but take the oil out of the rock layer.

Yeah, one of the reasons the area aroung New Orleans is sinking is because people have pumped so much oil and gas out of the ground. I don't think this is the cause of global warming though.

ok....the earth is constantly going through changes,it's always done that and the oil from the earth it's just a nutrient of the soil, coming from rocks, trees etc, nothing more.are we contribting to all the climate changes, and earth's shifting, maybe we are by using the earths nutrients in excess, but that's very unlikely.but like i said, the earth has always gone through changes, everything goes through changes,it's part of evolution.
