First let me note that "Harry A" is a complete moron. Just an FYI here. His message is complete nonsense.

First a few simple rules. You can't carry concealed in Texas without a CCW. You have to be 21 to get a CCW. Assuming that you possess the gun legally, the peaceble journey statute applies to persons of any age, so you can have a loaded gun in your car as long as it is not visible.

Here is the PDF concerning Texas CCW in general. The age requirement I quoted above is on page 8:

Here is the whole site:

My suggestion to you is to apply when you are 21.

Without a CHL you really can not carry a loaded pistol at any time. The way the law is written there are "legal defensed against prosecution" that does not keep the police from taking you to jail.

You have to check your local county laws for information about concealed weapons permits, because they're different in every state and often different in every county as well.

Try googling your local county sheriff's office--they usually have info posted about this type of thing on their websites. Or, go to your local sheriff's office and ask about it. They can tell you and give you the paperwork you'll need to fill out to get a CWP.

Concealed laws are different from regular laws, but you should have at least a class-b concealed law to carry a pistol. You'll need a class-a high-capacity license for something like a magnum.
