Having hard time in finding out what to do . Have VGA on my pc . Have Philips 30in widescreen Hdtv ( crt ) with Hdmi and component inputs . If converter needed , which one works . Web pages come up with Hi wire , but also read bad reviews on it . So what really does work . Just cables or converter .Will be using to serve web , email , movies etc

Buy a new video card for your PC with digital DVI out (Check Nvidia or ATI)
Then use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect the PC to the TV.

You have already make a wrong choice.. in nthis advance era, you must buy a 14" black and white tv, with manual intena, for that you have to go the roof of you home to set the direction to see the programme of your choice,
it might not help you to concentrate , but you will definitely loose some extra pound from your body, god bless you
