I've been in a seriouse relationship with this man for only a little over a year. Honesty is a major factor to him and I feel I can trust him. However, lately a rumor has spread that he has slept with variouse women, of which I immediately discreditted. However, he has informed me that the problem has spread but he won't tell me what's wrong, stating that he doesn't want to tell me til the issue is resolved. I'm the first to know anything and everything and now I'm being left out of something that I think I have a right to know. Although he states he will eventually tell me, what is so wrong that he can't tell me now which makes me wonder what's the big problem. Should I be patient and wait? Am I being insecure? What is the problem?

I see no reason why he wouldn't be able to share with you what's going on. If it concerns your relationship, it should concern you!

If he's not telling you what the problem is, then it might be true that he's been with other women. If it was merely a rumor getting around, he would have told you so and how annoyed he was that people in the professional world are spreading rumors like high-schoolers.
If I were you, I'd ask him what the problem is, if he doesn't me, then I'd ask him if the rumor that he's been with other women is true and then remind him how big on honesty he is (that's reverse psychology going on). You're not trying to trick him into asnwering you with reverse psychology, just showing him that you really want to know.

Were the rumors that he has slept with them while you two were together, or just various women from before you were together. If the rumor is while he has been with you, then you need to confront him for the answer. If it was about women before you, I wouldnt even let it bother you at all... So what... He wasnt a virgin before you. You already knew that.... right?

ok. all u have to do is just simply say "hey look, i'm curious if u have been doing things w/ other women or not" and he should tell u becuz ur the one he's in a relationship w/. tell him that u dont want to waste ur time wondering if he's really worth anyhting.

I think that he is hiding something from you. I mean if your the first person he always tells stuff to, then there's definitly something up. Get him to tell you OR ELSE. I know that's not really good, but what he is doing to you isn't very good either.
